QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) And that is one of the luckiest punts you will see. Luck? Its a punters job to put the right type of spin so the ball doesn't go into the end zone, how is it luck that he did his job well?

horrible throw there..
-
Looked in the back to me, but I only saw it in real time, so it could have been on the side.
-
Is there a reason why blocking in the back wasn't called on that INT return? Roethlisberger got shoved in the back as he was running.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) Anyone actually impressed with this halftime show? Its so bad..

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Mike Holmgren said that the ref told him when they were going to the lockerroom that he didn't think Ben got in, and Mike was irrate and was pissed off because the ref did not make that call. I also didn't think Ben got in. Personally, I think he got in, but even if you think he didn't, Holmgren is being a moron for whining about it. The game moved on from that play, you had a chance to score at the end of the half and you f***ed it up with crap play calling/clock management. Stop whining about plays in the past and play the game.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Is it pretty easy to download files online and put them on a PC game? I am really thinking about buying MVP 05 for the PC and just going to MVPmods.com and downloading rosters, stadiums, faces, and ect... Is it easy to put those files in the game? It's easy to do rosters, but I've never tried stadiums or faces. I have updated uniforms however, and they seem to work rather well (if you get a good uniform set). Most of it is quite easy to do as long as you backup all of your files first. The hardest part about the rosters is finding a good set, although EA has released a patch with updated rosters and ratings. Sadly, there won't be any new MLB games out for PC, leaving me screwed If I do feel the urge however, I do still have MVP 2005 for the PC, which should be enough.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) He'd have to hustle on defense anywhere else. He's lazy. He only has so many assist b/c he plays LF at Fenway, where he gets those nice hops from the green monster Not true. He also gets the assists because teams are willing to run on him more than normal fielders. Also, playing the green monster isn't exactly easy. He's had enough practice that he's good enough to know the bounces, but sticking a random fielder in there won't produce the same results.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) I am the kings*** and everyone else is dumb See, thats funny because thats how you come off in most of your posts. I'm assuming that one is joking (could be wrong..), but its not that far from your regular posts.

Rooting for the Steelers. As I've shown in other posts, I think the Seahawks are extremely overrated, and when they have to go up against one of the better teams in the league, while being not in Seattle, they wil be in for a world of pain. 31-14 Steelers. (and if I'm wrong, blah, I'm wrong )

Sorry, but no.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) All the Illini fans were ripping the Iowa fans for storming the court after they beat the Illini. How do they explain storming the court after a loss to lowly PSU? Not to say PSU is good, but they've given good teams tough times as of late. They lost to Iowa by 4, to OSU only by 11 (was close throughout the first half, within 10 throughout the second), played a tight game against MSU (lost by 9 in the end, but did lead with less than 6 minutes left), and gave Michigan a run for its money (lost by 6, had a strong ending). I wouldn't exactly call them lowly, although they definitely aren't good. -
It would be interesting to see a Weaver/Weaver combination. That would be a horrible deal for Boston.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) Fine he throws like a wuss and even when he did play crappy competition he couldnt even win them any games. He is not Roeth, Byron, Daunte or McNair. Besides, with the 1st three (I was too young to remember McNairs drafting).. they were all graded out as 1st round picks and premeir talent, Omar Jacobs isnt. lol, and yet you have nothing against Vince Young, who also throws like a wuss (despite what you say).

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 12:20 PM) You won't be the only one. Maroney will be a first-round draft selection. I'm willing to take a little heat on the running back rankings and just adopt an "I told you so" stance in about a year or so. We'll see Also, I'm a bit confused about these rankings. Are these the order they will go in the draft, or the quality player they will be in the pros? I'm assuming the second, which would mean it would take more than a year to say "I told you so" (although, to be fair, you did say "a year or so") Also, I like that you actually spelled Leinart correctly, something most people here haven't realized in other posts

Nice rankings, although I don't really agree with your RB rankings. I'd say DeAngelo Williams is better than LenDale White, and Marooney is better than both Drew and Norwood.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 11:56 AM) than faltering when it gets near playoff time and in the playoffs. lol.. Zito's career playoff stats: 3-2, 2.76 ERA, 32.2 IP, 32 K, 11 BB, 1.06 WHIP And yes, Zito is consistant.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Do you think if a pitchers get 5 runs scored in the first inning, he should try to strike every batter outafter that? Or is it ok for him to give up a few runs? What's wrong with pitching at the level of your opponent as long as you get the win? Who is better, pitcher A who goes 21-4 with a 7.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP or pitcher B who goes 10-7 with a 1.00 ERA and .90 WHIP? And yes, these are extremes.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) Contreras was 15-7 with the Yankees, he went 15-7 last year with the World Champion Chicago White Sox. Is this MUCH better? Wins mean basically nothing when analyzing pitchers. Do you really think Contreras, or just about any other pitcher in the league, was better than Roger Clemens last year?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) 3 vs CLE --> 2-1 3 at KC --> 3-0 3 at DET --> 2-1 3 vs TOR --> 2-1 3 vs KC ---> 2-1 3 vs MIN --> 2-1 3 at SEA --> 3-0 3 at LAA --> 1-2 ---------------------- 17-7 Sums up my thoughts well

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) Question #19 was an interesting one. You have to think the player was making $10 a month as a personal trainer which would leave you to believe that the player was working in a foreign country and that they were probably over 20 at the time. Damaso Marte and Pablo Ozuna were both very young when they signed thier pro contracts so they probably weren't personal trainers. That would leave the two Cubans and noing a little background on Contreras and Hernandez told me that Jose was a stud pitcher in Cuba and a favorite of Castro himself which would lead me to believe that he would not have to take a job as a personal trainer, he would be taken care of by the Cuban government instead. That means El Duque has to be the Trainer, deduction works wonders. I just guess that it was El Duque because he's extremely flexible (as shown by his pitching style with the knee) Stupid reasoning probably, but it worked!

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) Ozzie is too old and has been in this country for too long, Uribe really was the obvious choice. Yea, well, that makes sense now, but I didn't really spend much time thinking about this
