Should the NCAA 3 point line be moved back?
Felix replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm all for moving it back to the NBA's distance. This way, players will not be as overhyped as a big 3 point threat coming right out of college, and will lessen the 'disappointments' coming from college into the pros. -
QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) Hey i wouldn't mind having T.O. Look at our receivers. Mushin drops millions of passes and everyone else is crap. This is what the Bears need to take the next step. The problem with TO is that he's not going to get the money that he wants, which means he'll end up whining about it in a year or two. He also wouldn't like playing for the Bears, and especially not Kyle Orton, who cannot pass, if he ever starts another game. The Bears run the ball way too much for TO to be be a Bear, he wouldn't be able to last half the season before whining. Also, our WR corp isn't that horrible, and definitely isn't the #1 need for this team. Moose (big contract, and isn't as bad as people here make him out to be), Berrian (great end of the year and playoff game), Bradley (great year up until getting hurt), and Gage (could probably be a solid #3 or 4 guy). The team has a much bigger hole in the secondary, or TE, or LB. Signing a FA as expensive and as risky as TO would be foolish.

After getting those links for a few years, you get used to it. I found that video pretty funny, but its also *very* cruel

QUOTE(CluelessJoe1919 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) Yep..Like I said, he looked great. He shortened his swing and made contact...I said it was a short stint. Are you not very bright or something? Striking out 4 times in 12 AB's isn't exactly "great"..

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Is that a real poncho or a Sears poncho? I mean, is that a mexican poncho or a Sears poncho? That's one of my favorite songs of his

QUOTE(CluelessJoe1919 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) That's funny, but nobody hates Rush Limbaugh more than I do...However, he was right on this one...McNabb will be out of football in three years. He's benefited from being on a solid team. What was it, two seasons ago when he went out with about four games remaining in the regular season? Everyone was like, "Philly's done." Well, two backup QBs led Philly to about five or six straight wins, including one or two in the playoffs. McNabb came back and Philly dropped the title game. Some of us can spot a terribly overrated QB quickly. You'll all come around. Many already are. Wait a second. This is all sounding too familiar to the "Rex Grossman should retire" thread. This has got to be crazyman26.

Why do they always show the curling at 3 AM (EST)? I've got school tomorrow, plus I probably would fall asleep around 2, just like last night -
QUOTE(CluelessJoe1919 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Christ...how did they omit McNabb? Easily, since he's not overrated.

Bush mentioned Kenny! He cares about black people after all!

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Joe Namath is the most overrated athlete ever, and the only man close is Derek Jeter (and at least Jeter has 4 rings as the SS of the Yanks, which should get you some props I'll admit). Timo Perez has a ring. Lets give him props too!

They better watch out for Dick Cheney.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 08:35 AM) Borchard whines throughout the entire article. I hope Williams finds a nice trade scenario and sends him to baseball purgatory in Tampa Bay. Where even there he'd be a bench-player. How can he seriously blame anyone besides himself for limited opportunities in the big-leagues? I'm not going to kiss his ass because he's a 'good guy' or past contributer to Future Sox. Bust prospects shouldn't have any face-time in newspaper columns. Exactly.

QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) Yea, I'm usually up around that hour too (although, 2 AM EST, not CST). Snow shoveling has worn me out today though, but if I can help it, I'll be up I'm a wuss, going to fall asleep any minute now. I'm recording the curling though, so I'll watch it sometime tomorrow morning when I wake up. -
I remember earlier this year a kid I know in school was talking about how the Knicks had a better starting 5 than the Spurs. It was, and still is, hilarious to think about.

PSU also beat Illinois in Illinois, while Minnesota beat PSU in PSU. Does that mean Minnesota will beat Illinois in Minnesota?!?!?!?! -

Minnesota's going to beat Iowa at home. In my dreams -
Er, I lied. It felt like a big trip because of the drive to Chicago/Michigan State, but technically, it wasn't really one trip. Most were all timed in the same time period. I did Pittsburgh separately because I already had a trip planned to see my brother at Penn State, so we just traveled out the extra 4 hours to see Pittsburgh. Including seeing a Pirates/Mets game and my brother, the Pittsburgh trip took a weekend. As for Minnesota, I flew out there for another weekend. Since my mom's parents live out there, and the drive is too long to do as a casual thing (24 hour drive or so, and my mom is not the person for road trips), we flew out on a Friday (IIRC) and came back on a Sunday. As for Chicago and Michigan State, it felt like a big trip. My dad and I flew out to Chicago on a Saturday and rented a car. We stayed at my Aunt's house on Saturday night, then on Sunday, we went to a White Sox/Mariners game. After the game, we drove to Michigan State (this drive felt so long that its distorted my perspective on all of these trips), and on the Monday, we took the tour of MSU. After the tour, we drove most of the way back to Chicago, but stopped about 2/3rds of the way there at a hotel. On Tuesday morning, we drove to Chicago where we took the tour of UIC in the afternoon, then caught the evening flight (had to miss the end of the tour, but we had seen most of it) back to Newark, New Jersey. Sorry for the confusion.. I'm sort of confused myself

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) So are you living in Pittsburgh now? Where did you tour? I live in Jersey now, but I am moving to Minnesota for school in late August/early September. I toured Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Illinois: Chicago, and Minnesota last year, while having been to UIUC, Purdue, Penn State, and Wisconsin with my other brothers when they were looking at colleges (so, like 5-8 years ago ).

I watched it around the same time as I watched Neverending Story (which was previously mentioned), so I consider it one
