  1. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) It isn't as easy. 24 seconds for those sort of questions is more than enough time, especially when most take 5-10 seconds, and you get to use the excess time on other questions which might be a bit more difficult.
  2. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) It's 50 questions, and they vary in difficulty. I think they progressively get harder. 50 questions in 12 minutes. What's your point? If its anything like this, its easy as hell.
  3. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) The test is 50 questions, and it's timed at 12 minutes, I believe. The number that you get right is your score. The time has as much to do with it as the difficulty of the questions. You can't answer easy questions in 12 minutes? That's more than enough time.
  4. So basically, Vince Young isn't a complete moron, he's just an idiot?
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) I'm cool if people say nothing, but it'll take a lot for someone to actually justify booing the man. Yea, thats basically how I feel about it. Unless he takes a gun and shoots the current White Sox, I won't boo him.
  6. I'd support him still, but if he keeps talking and trying to get pity, I might just rather do nothing.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) I'm not sure, are you responding to me? Nope, the original poster, sorry Well, Frank seems to be whining because he was mistreated, and let go when he could produce just as much as Thome. I was just countering that. Yes, KW overreacted, but he said nothing but the truth. Sometimes teams need to stop kissing up to players and just tell it like it is, and I think that this is one of those instances.

I understand where you are coming from, but Frank is seriously acting like a 2 year old. He didn't get an offer to come back after struggling through injuries for the past few years. He's 37, he's not going to get healthy enough to play again. Keeping him around hurts the team, and requires roster spot has to be dedicated for him. IIRC, he showed last year that he doesn't like to split time with someone (Carl Everett), and to keep him happy, he would have to be the teams only option at DH. Since he's so injury prone, it would be a stupid thing for the White Sox to do. Thomas goes down a week into the season, and they are stuck having Joe Borchard DH. I first felt sorry for Frank. He was a great player, and defined this franchise for many years, but now he's just being whiny. He thinks he's in his prime? He'll be hurt in less than a month, book it. He thinks he's a better option than Thome? Last year was Thome's first year of injuries. He's only 35, and has shown in recent years (2003 and 2004) that he can still hit 40 HR and 100+ RBI while posting a high .900's OPS and staying healthy. Has Frank shown that? No.
  9. And there goes Minnesota's outside chance at the NCAA tournament
  10. No one else might be following the game, but Minnesota seems to be holding its own against Wisconsin. 38-36 Minnesota at the half.
  11. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) he was just a prick that was on the Sox and could be counted on for a 310/470/530 line in his prime. He thinks he's in his prime now. Can anyone count on him for that line?
  12. I understand your point about the strikeouts, and it really depends on how much they are valued in the league. Both Duke and Cain will post low ERA's and WHIP's while winning games, which is why I don't exactly understand naming them "the worst starting pitching". If strikeouts are valued high, then Duke and Cain woudn't be the best options, but I think their other virtues are enough otherwise.
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) KW is not innocent in all of this, not by a long shot Can you explain that to me? I mean, KW did what was best for the team, and if that makes him responsible, then I'm a bit confused. Sure, it would have been nice to see Frank finish off his days in a White Sox uniform, but its not like Kenny had a choice. He had to let him go, because otherwise the team is down a roster spot in their attempts to repeat.
  14. Frank.. I like you, but shut up. This "poor me" act is getting really old fast.
  15. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) There is also a Ray Liotta in the Sox minor league system (unless he has been traded). He hasn't yet, but knowing Kenny this offseason, he'll be gone in the next few weeks.
  16. Minnesota in Wisconsin today.. can't say I'm expecting much (although they're on a minor roll as of late)
  17. Hernandez is just as unproven as both Cain and Duke. Thats the only reason why I was curious about the whole thing.
  18. Just out of curiousity iWiN4PreP, why do you consider Felix Hernandez a stud (and Brandon Webb), but not Cain or Duke? Both Duke and Cain had better years last year than both pitchers, and both Cain and Duke are excellent prospects that are major league ready. Is there something about them that I don't know, or is it just that their names aren't household names?
  19. Sport: Baseball Team: Chicago White Sox Position (if applicable): CF or SS Legacy: All-time hits leader or stolen bases leader.
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) The Knicks get pounded again. It looks like Francis helped them a lot! 27 minutes, 3-9 shooting, 9 points, 3 fouls, 3 turnovers
  21. Holy crap that looks nice. Good job
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 03:36 AM) Does he have MVP numbers? Without question. But you gotta have the team success to go with it. That's true without a doubt. Otherwise, Allen Iverson would have won a few more MVP's in his day.. Also, looking good for the Sixers 3 game winning streak (assuming they hold on tonight) coming out of the break after looking horrible leading up to it.
  23. QUOTE(crazyman26 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) Drew Brees has not been signed by San Diego yet, does anybody think Chicago will try and sign him? No way in hell. I don't see Chicago signing any QB's, or drafting any with a real QB prospects.
  24. I've realized that if you look at this thread with some pity, its quite hilarious.
