  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Isn't he one of those guys though that if you tried to push his usage rate up, it probably wouldn't exactly wind up creating more wins? Decent point, but the Wolves almost never run plays for Love. All of his points either come from other teams forgetting about him as he hangs around the three point line or his work on the offensive glass. He's not the type of player that can create his own shot, which is why he doesn't get the ball as much as he probably should down the stretch (which is probably the core of your point). He takes what the defense gives him, and fortunately for him, he's versatile enough offensively to make it work.
  2. I don't disagree with you that Love isn't a top 10 player, but I don't think you can blame him for his team's inability to finish down the stretch. Maybe if his usage rate was higher and the ball was in his hands more down the stretch, but the team hasn't won because they're thick in the head, not because Love hasn't done every-goddamn-thing possible to try and will them to win.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) Eh, it's really f'n close. I'd take the guy that averages the same number of points, THREE more rebounds a game and is a far better shooter. I'm not saying Griffin isn't good, but Love is simply better. Less Sportscenter highlights, but that doesn't make him a worse player. And for what it's worth, Griffin is just as bad defensively as Love is. It obviously depends on how you value those things, but let's not pretend Griffin is this defensive stud while Love makes his team suddenly give up thousands of points per game. EDIT: Of course, the site I just linked to thinks Corey Brewer and Wes Johnson are better than Kevin Love. So it's obviously full of s***.
  4. What's really interesting is that Love ranks 6th in the NBA in PER, ahead of Kobe, Durant, Deron, Rose, Amare and Griffin. Obviously, I'm not saying Love is better than all of those players (although he is better than Griffin ), but it really puts into perspective how ridiculous his season has been this year. Really, if you want to see Love in the ASG, root for a 'Melo trade. That's the most likely scenario where both he and Griffin get in, I think.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 08:19 AM) How outraged will you be if he's left off the all-star team? You know Durant and Dirk are locks. As is Carmelo. Then you've got Duncan, who will probably get in through reputation if anything [doesn't hurt that his team has the best record in the league]. Then you've got Blake griffin. That's 5 forwards right there. I also have a feeling one of Westbrook/Ellis will miss out. Which would be a tragedy. Of course, there's always guys missing the game just for the hell of it so who knows. Right now, Kevin Love is a better basketball player than Blake Griffin. And considering Love is less than a year older than him...
  6. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 06:45 AM) Howard had 39 and 18 last night. Wake me up when he has a 30/20 game this year. Love is beating the rest of the NBA 2-0 in that regard.
  7. They rushed the court after beating Illinois? Really?
  8. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 11:34 PM) WOW. Lebron is a f***ING EPIC DOUCHE BAG This isn't news.
  9. It's 86-35 in the Lakers/Cavs game right now. It's the 3rd quarter.
  10. Awful. I'm glad I never have to watch the Bulls.. he's almost as bad as Hawk.

    Suits

    I've got two suits from MW and am very happy with both of them. I was able to find ones that fit me very well (42XL), and it was 2 for 1, so although each was roughly $500 a piece, it wasn't that bad.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 07:59 AM) That color commentator (whoever he is) is complete trash. Awesome dunk though. Also: 20/20 again Kevin. Love.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) He's getting to the line a lot I assume. Yeah, and he converts them at a high rate. Regardless, he's one of the most efficient players in the league this year DESPITE his issues finishing around the rim. Kevin Love is ridiculous.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) You're right...Damn. His overall FG% is only 46% though. TS% of 58.6%
  15. I haven't posted in here in awhile (mostly because we're depressingly terrible and I already harp on that enough outside of Soxtalk, so why do it here as well?), so I'll give it an update: 21.2 15.7 43.7% Absolutely absurd numbers.

    QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 05:43 PM) the last movie Cage made that I enjoyed was Matchstick Men. All of his action movies are ridiculously over the top and full of his corny one liners CON AIR
  18. QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) IMHO OOTP isn't even worth playing if it's not 6.5 It's like they keep trying to improve on something that was already perfect. Like everyone else said, without seeing the ratings (i preferred 1-100 rather than 1-10 when I played), there's no way to give an opinion. I haven't looked at a league in awhile, have they fixed Mark Prior being an absolute beast in every league yet? There is so much wrong with this post. 1) 6.5 was great, but far from perfect. Recent versions of the game have been better (improved game engine, better development, more realistic progressions). That being said, I've bought it yearly since OOTP 6 and have no intentions of buying another version anytime soon, as their dev team is one of the worst around. 2) 1-100 ratings are for noobs that want things spelled out for them. 1-10 is better, 2-8 is best. 3) That Mark Prior thing can't be serious, can it? He was once a great pitcher so he was rated as a beast. Now he's a fringe player, so he's rated as a fringe player. What do you expect it to do? You were right about one thing, though. It's tough to say how good a team is without seeing the ratings. So congrats! You're 1/4.. still doing better than Mark Kotsay.
  19. Kevin Love has 15 rebounds. The first half just ended.

    QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Not sure where to put this but I just watched the series Firefly and the following movie Serenity. Im hooked and sad that I never saw it when it came out. Fantastic series. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Wish Firefly was streaming online through Netflix. Would like to of see it. Obviously one of those great shows that lasted only 1 season. Last I checked, Firefly was streaming. Unless you mean Serenity. And if you didn't enjoy Scott Pilgrim, then I'm incredibly sorry for you and you obviously missed the point. It's a fun movie, and damn near impossible not to enjoy. Same goes for Kick-Ass, for that matter.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) I don't think so. I've been to Utah and I almost died from boredom. This was like in 1999. And there's like no black folks. The only black people I can recall were Karl Malone, who's not really black, and Byron Russell . Let me rephrase: if you like outdoorsy sorts of things, Salt Lake City is a great place to live. There are tons of options all within driving distance, and it's really a beautiful area. Even I'm not the biggest outdoorsman, but I lived there for a summer a couple years ago and really, really loved it. As for the team, the city basically lives and breathes Jazz. They have no other professional sport (unless you're counting the Utah Flash in Orem or the Salt Lake Bees, who don't play during the same season), and the fans are incredibly devout. EnergySolutions Arena is a great environment, and any player would love playing in front of those fans night in and out.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 27, 2010 -> 08:47 PM) Who wouldn't want to get out of Utah? That's not the best place to live. Utah is actually a really nice area to live. Salt Lake is a great city and the fans there are some of the best in the league. Excellent atmosphere.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 26, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) You forgot something. This was his 19th game this year with 15+ points and 15+ rebounds. He's had more games with those numbers than he has without. Disgusting.
  24. OH MY GOD THE TIMBERWOLVES WON A CLOSE GAME DOWN THE STRETCH Run for your lives! The world is going to end!
