GameThread: White Sox(21-25) vs Royals(23-24)
G&T replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2009 Season in Review
QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ May 29, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) The sad part about Clayton is the better he pitches the better the chances he will be leaving the white sox before the end of July IMO. With Poreda coming up and Danks and Buerhle locked into the rotation I don't see use going with 4 leftys and Clayton's trade value has never been higher. The better Clayton pitches the more likely Poreda is gone, IMO. -
GameThread: White Sox(21-25) vs Royals(23-24)

Since when did Clayton throw in the mid 90's? -
Fukudome stats over the last 14 games: .192 - .382 - .308
-
2% usually. 1% I can handle but skim is brutal.
-
By the way, for anyone who questions Terry Boers' baseball knowledge or contacts (and there were a few in the Marquez thread), he said back in March Beckham would make it to the majors as a third baseman this season based on what he heard from his guys. IMO, the fact that the Sox had this plan in March speaks to the Sox thoughts on Fields.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 27, 2009 -> 07:07 PM) So you are saying that the bunny ranch accepts coupons. awesome I just go to this place:
-
QUOTE (BearSox @ May 27, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) I would do it in a heart beat. Doubt the A's would, unless they are really desperate for a 3B. Isn't Chavez's career threatened by back injuries?

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 27, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) I know. I mean Jack Hannahan and Nomar Garciaparra just SCREAM Billy Beane, don't they? Yeah, those guys cost what prospects? Jason Perry?
-
Fields is the opposite of what Beane wants.
-
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 27, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) Once you come and eat in their places, you can redeem the coupon? Thats a great deal, i wish there were more coupons for that sort of thing Coupons are easier to find when they want you to come in. Kyyle, with my help, I believe that, one day, you too will learn how to find that special place that will always allow reciprocal happiness and, thus, cheap deals. On a side note, I somehow managed to get an A+ in business organizations. I've never had a grade higher than an A- in law school (and those are scarce for me). There may be a mistake.
-
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 27, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) Hard times, yet you are going to eat out. This joke just continues to get better In these times, I think it my duty to get inside as many places as possible. They are pretty much begging me to come.
-
QUOTE (onedude @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:57 PM) wow....some are resorting to accepting coupons?? These are hard times.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) Hope you have protection. Protection is for pussies....er...something.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 26, 2009 -> 06:51 PM) The sexual position known as 69 will now be known as 96, due to inflation resulting from the poor state of the economy it now costs more to eat out. Luckily, I've been finding great coupons and cheap places to eat out.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) I dont know if he SHOULD be thrown at for using this stance, but I can certainly see why an opposing pitcher WOULD throw at him if he is running up on the ball. Basically it is going to make him think twice before doing it again, because if he is moving his weight forward towards the ball, he is going to have that much less time to get out of the way of the ball. A deterrent HBP, in other words Yeah, but all he has to do is show he can still steal a base and that will end. That's why pitchers don't throw at Ichiro. There's no point in hitting a guy on purpose and having him steal second.

Sox @ Angels 5-25-09 - Danks vs. Santana
G&T replied to whitesoxbrian's topic in 2009 Season in Review
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 25, 2009 -> 06:15 PM) just a guess BA hasn't seen Santana much in his limited career. I think only 2AB's... now he did hit one of the 2AB's out of the park, 3 years ago. Scotty Pods has seen Santana a bunch in his career, not a lot of hits, but a bunch of walks. (OBP= .375) You may be right, but that's just dumb. By that logic, BA will never play. -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 25, 2009 -> 05:52 PM) Milton Bradley "The Umps are forcing me to swing at bad pitches" delusional. Wow, he actually believes that?
-
I give him credit for at least realizing that the Sox are the only that actually wants and can afford him. Otherwise, this is a rehash of every other article.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2009 -> 05:32 PM) He also hit a batter. That's 8 hits, 2 BB, 1 HBP in 5.2 innings. He had an error that he couldn't pitch over in the 6th before he was pulled. If people are hitting things he's throwing they don't always need to take the BB. It can be pitching behind people that gets you in trouble even if you're not walking them. Well with him, it's likely that he didn't have the off-speed working again, which means he was throwing all fastballs, which is probably why so many hits. That's not going to work.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2009 -> 12:02 AM) Those two are writers for the Office so this thing has a lot of potential. That show hasn't been funny for a couple seasons, IMO. I love Ghostbusters 1, but a 3rd isn't intriguing. We will see.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 23, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) I just wish Hamp and Murph would go away... I'm cool with Lawrence. He and Jason should get a show. +1 Lawrence kinda sucks too, but at least he can speak. I think he is really patient with Hampton who is incompetent.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) That's four out of five since hitting rock bottom in Toronto. That's how you creep back into things. I kinda thought losing 20-1 was rock bottom... Meanwhile, I like CR but I don't think his value is in the AL. He will have a nice career in the NL. It would be great though if he can be a mainstay in the rotation this season.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ May 23, 2009 -> 06:17 PM) I know for a fact that Jason will not be posting for a couple days because he is not as dedicated as I am. Besides the Rally Poo has brought this team good fortune, I am convinced of that for certain. You are lucky they won, otherwise I would have had to your ass...wait...what?
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 23, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) He started that thread before yesterday's game, it's just a heads up. He does it all the time. Didn't Jason start yesterday's? So either way Shipps is shipping all over the rules.
