  1. getting Soriano for Broadway, Floyd and Pods would be the biggest rape in MLB history. Very amusing crystal ball article.
  2. I think Danks has already proved that he doesnt need to be cuddled and handled like a baby. Its not like were dealing with the Bears qb situation aronud here.
  3. 70's night at the Cell tonight, anybody know if we are wearing throwbacks??
  4. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 23, 2007 -> 09:02 AM) North to NYC? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...user=CTUSERNAME Sure that will happen....... when Mariotti goes back to s***tsburgh.
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Su...F?urn=nfl,33381 Interesting rumor on yahoo. They need to get this done any way they can.
  6. Saw Pods shagging fly balls all weekend in BP at Wrigley and looked pretty quick on his feet....maybe he's not as far from coming back as we all thought.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 17, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Ozzie says Jose on Sunday. f*** Jose on short rest in that atmosphere screams nightmare to me but whatever. Jose probably pitched double-headers back in Cuba. He pitched outstanding last night. Great call.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 16, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) yup. no doubt. Did ANYONE on here think he would be this good? I was bragging about it on Christmas Day when my whole Cubs fan family was ripping the s*** out of me becuase BMac was supposed to be the next ace of our staff and Kenny got completely hosed. I was actually surprised that Texas didnt try him out for a start or tow last year, that concerned me that he might not yet be ready and maybe were rushing him. But clearly, Texas missed the ball on him. He could have really helped their club last year. I didnt expect this mound presence this quick though, love his short memory after a mistake.
  9. Danks drops the ERA to 4.10 with a stellar QS. Finish this off for his first home W guys.
  10. Brother Luis!!! Tis a shame I couldnt be there right now to give out the standing O.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) So for those playing along at home... Send Danks out for the 7th with a one run lead and 84 pitches, or go to the pen? Keep him in for 1 more, if he goes 1-2-3. I even take him into the 8th. We don't think about Sunday right now.
  12. Hey Posada has got on twice already and was left stranded.....hat tricks are dandy
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) True. We would have to get walked in by someone. Farnsworthless??
  14. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) Ed wet himself on the Uribe play. How many stars did he hang on that one??
  15. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:33 PM) With Terraro and Molina starting in the next game Wang may throw a perfect game. Guaranteed WHIP for the game of 0.667. We'll end up with 6 base runners. Molina yes, but I wouldnt write in stone that Terrero will start in LF for the nightcap just yet. Ozzie could out Rob Base in LF, with him at DH in the first....and of course everyone's favorite donkey, Pablo.
  16. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) We need to give this kid some run support today. I'll be at the second of the twin bill tonight. Hope we can get some runs then too. ditto.... but with Gustavo Molina probably starting, we won't have to worry about "hoping", offensive explosion is a foregone conclusion.
  17. QUOTE(smalls2598 @ May 16, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) I sent an email to Brooks, and received this reply (and i am definitely happy with it) "We just released our exchange ticket policy for last night. If you cannot make today’s game, you will be able to exchange your ticket for the best available upper deck ticket for tonight’s game, tomorrow’s game, any of the Yankees games in June, the Twins in July or the Tigers in July. Hopefully, our fans will see this as fair." They just said on the radio, you can go to today's game and still exchange last night's ticket for ANY premier game left on the schedule. Good call.
  18. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 16, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) Anyone here think Mike Mussina will make the hall of fame? Not as of right now... he needs to do a bit more. 5 more years with 15+ could do it. Anyone have the line-up for today yet?
  19. I tend to agree with a lot of your guys comments.... not considered to be an "epic" release for them, but a statemtnj effort with Nels aboard for his first album with the band. Jeff seems to be very confortable and confident with this outift, and that can only point towards a productive and positive future for Wilco. I will say this though... "Impossible Germany" is one of the best sogns Wilco has ever done. Everything from the heavenly intro, to the subtle lyrics, to Nels' mesmorizing guitar solo..... amazing tune.
  20. QUOTE(bmags @ May 15, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) i'm going to buy it after i go to the DMV. It will lower my frustration. I didn't listen to any of the leaks or anything so i'm gonna have one of those buy listen to all day experiences. you have great patience. I was fiending for some new Wilco so I had to take a listen or two, but seriously, what other band would be cool with streaming their whole new album some 2 months before it is released. I Wilco.
  21. Now that weve had quite a few votes in here, I can say we are very close to what they had this morning. They had 64% Yankees 36% Cubs. Silvy was kinda surprised at the results, but its not like the majority of Sox fans are unknowledgeable baseball fans.

    Wilco fans??

Thought I'd start a little thread here for the hometown boys, not really sure how many Wilco or Jeff Tweedy fans are in here, but nevertheless, if you are interested or have been wanting to hear them, check out their new album "Sky Blue Sky" out today. Where I can't really compare it to any of their earlier stuff, it really is a fantastic listen.
