when Joe is in the midst of a hot streak, it seems that it is all too easy to forget on how long his droughts can be. I love Crede as much as the next Sox fan, but I still cannot dismiss the fact that we went against the Sox wishes in getting that surgury done much sooner. Like a year. But no, Crede listened to Boras...and tried to play through it, which in turn made him lose all of 2007. I love the way Joe is playing, but again.... will the real Joe Crede please stand up? After all these years, I'm still not sure we know that we can rely on him day in and day out. Eric Chavez comes to mind, and look at that contract.

can't wait for the game tonight.... also get early admittance to watch Sox BP as part of our Soxfest MVP pass Patio Party. Of course have never witnessed that before at a home game, so that should be pretty cool. -
Who is the MVP of the Tigers Series
watchtower41 replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My MVP is the Sodfather. with all the rain we got the entire weekend, we hardly even saw a delay... though I wish they would have on Friday night. -
I seem to remember being at a game in the early 90's at old Milwaukee County Stadium where Big Hurt clocked Pat Listach. It happened with trying to break up a double play, and within seconds the bullpens emptied out with melee everywhere. I wish I could find a clip of that fight somewhere, as it was one of the only that I remember Frank being directly involved in.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK. Sitting at my desk here on this drury Tuesday, it still has not quite sunk in yet. Not regulated to the bridesmaid role anymore, Kansas is National CHAMPIONS! Long Live SUPER MARIO!!! An UNBELIEVABLE and very emotional day of sports for me, that I will never forget.

QUOTE(iamshack @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Nice to see Johnny settle down... which can only mean positive things I suppose... tells me at least his adjustments are proving beneficial. -
Diehard Jayhawk fan as some of you may know, but I'm kinda hoping they bow out before Sunday in this year's Big XII tourney, and has everything to do with past history. In any given year where KU has a really deep elite team on paper and an outstanding regular season record, they go ahead and win the Big XII tounrey only to be upset before even sniffing the Final Four. See 96-97, 97-98, ect. hell, even last year. Though somehow Hinrich, Collison and Gooden were immune to that curse. Did they win the Big XII tourney both FF years, I dont think they did??

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) Has any former White Sox pitcher ever stayed healthy? Marte?? -
yep went to the gmae last year, it was also Chorizo bobblehead give-away day. I think theyve been doing this for several years, I think this might be the 4th consecutive?? They even auction off the player worn jerseys on the website after the game has been played. Those throw-backs are definitely new though, hopefully they don't replace the Blue and Yellow ones theyve revived over the past few seasons though.... that MB baseball glove logo rules!!!

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 02:38 PM) yeah, I know a group who always goes and this is the first year I can actually get out there. I can not wait it's a blast. Ceasar's and Mandalay Bay sportsbooks sound like a highschool pep rally at 8:30am with thousands of degenerate college hoop junkies screaming in unison, "Let's GO ORANGE". Really, its heaven.

I only use mine for the Blu Ray player (since most of the PS3 games are very mediocre, at this point anyways) The system works out great for a Blu Ray player, and thats the intended use I bought it for... mostly to counter what I already had with HD DVD on xbox360. I am happy with my purchase, but I still forsee playing the majority of the video games I buy on xbox360....its just the better gaming system, and most of the games that are out on both get better scores for the 360 anyways. I do look forward to checking out MLB '08: The Show though.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) The Count started going 3 innings with 1 unearned run and no walks. 1 K best news out of today. I like how Jose is approaching this season like he has something to re-prove.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) Good to finally have him in camp, but I still think the starting job is going to Uribe. No doubt... and I'm sure this was decided before any visa problems. Honestly, Richar could hit .400+ this spring, I still don't see him pegged as the opening day stater. That job belongs to Senor Juan, unless he f's up so bad at 2nd...they have no choice. The visa problem may very well come into play on wheter or not Richar makes this team, which at this point, I'd say he's on the outside looking in.

I know this would usually go in the "How Does That Work?" subforum, but that looks nice and tidy with only a few threads in there right now. So just real quick, has anyone made any cool Kane, Kane/Toews wallpapers?? muchas gracias. Commit to the Indian! Also wish I could attend, but they will both signing at the Auto Show Tonight from 5-7pm Chevy display. If anyone does go, I'd be willing to trade.... I have a nice selection of White Sox signed stuff, an autographed Buehrle or Dye baseball ect. for a signed puck or photo.

QUOTE(striker62704 @ Feb 14, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) I forgot to mention that I'm in CO, so I need somewhere online. www.grandstandsox.com

even though I loathe the place, I'm sure Grandstand has several different onesies to choose from.

Still beats $60 to park at Wrigley for a night game, but all things considered, for the White Sox, this is absurd. This doesn't directly effect me with taking the El, but when the inevitable happens and they raise beer prices once again...yeah then I'll be pissed.

Harold Baines Will Be The New Outfield Statue
watchtower41 replied to Al Lopez's Ghost's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Podsednik?? I hope they make one that doesnt crack or melt..... Seriously though, as long as they have enough room for Big Hurt... they can add as many statues as they want. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) I'm not so certain we don't win in '05 with Lee. But it's not worth debating. I'd say '06 and '07 would look better with Lee. If Carlos Lee would have been on the Sox in 2005, the following players would have never seen home game at the Cell..... Podsednik (still the firestarter that got all of '05 going), Vizcaino, A.J., Iguchi, Shingo, ect. I don't think they could have won with Lee in place of Pods, let alone all the other key components we obatined for the title run because we didnt have to take on El Caballo's enormous contract.
-
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 05:42 AM) Podsednik Check out Scott's personal website, cool stuff. I wonder why nothing is selling at his personal store thought? I like how his logo doesnt have a montage of him playing the outfield. Scott Podsednik. I hit, I run, I slide. Still love the kid though, one of my best memories of '05 was Pods running out to LF at the start of a game, just learning that the fans voted him in the All-Star game over the likes of Jeter, Matsui and Crawford. It was a well-deserved moment for Scott to reward him for the first half of the '05 season. I'll never regret the Carlos Lee trade, there is no way we win without Pods on that '05 team.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) The Palmer House sucks and the event has really gone downhill. It is hard to get around and we missed the whole fundamentals section that was not even marked. Couldn't agree more. This was the WORST Soxfest I've been to out of 6. Completely unorganized, and they opened the doors at 8:15 on Saturday to "accomodate" the clowns that were waiting in line from 3AM. Such a great fan experience Did meet Swish on Saturday though... he seemed to be overwhelmed by all the fan support without even seeing him swing a bat in a Sox uni yet. Sweet mohawk too! Very cool guy though, he seems jacked to be here in Chicago.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) Best Kansas team by far since 96-97. Still don't trust Self in a tourney situation yet!!! I'd go to war with that 97-98 squad too, very atheletic and deep as well. Who could forget LESTER Earl LOl? I hear whay youre saying though, starting to get real psyched for thie year's bunch of Jayhawks. Darnell ohhh my. JuJu who?
