damnit I can't get this mlb.com free feed to work -
Elvis Andrus could go on a tear again as well and be considered among the favorites. Let's just hope Bacon keeps raking and worry about individual awards and how many all-star teams he makes later.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 04:14 AM) Held onto too long Joe Borchard for sure Sure, maybe we could have got more for him... but I'll take getting one of the best set-up men in baseball in return for that hot garbage any day.
-
Is this official, I mean this is Cowley were we get this information.... I think I will wait to see who trots out to the mound at 7:00 tomorrow evening.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) Well every indication is that Flowers has made huge strides as a catcher, so to say he's only going to be a DH at this point is way premature. That being said, I wouldn't even hesitate to trade Flowers for a guy like Halladay. So we should all assume the exact opposite , considering this site is a better source than that clown Cowley.

They played this so much on Saturday my gf thought it was the '09 version of "Don't Stop Believing", though I gotta admit it really has a nice ring to it among all the "Bacon, Bacon Bacon!!!!" chants.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 08:55 AM) Farmer and DJ were talking about this. It seems that it's the song he's come out to since he was in high school, so he asked them to find it here. And supposedly he actually knows the song, knows the album, etc. Wow I thought it had to be a rookie prank or something.

Will they be selling the jerseys they wore yesterday?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) You could have gotten a much better 3B than Beckham with a guy like Hunter. Yes, I was offered Russell Branyan. I didn't want him. Hunter is not historically a fantasy stud or anything, I think I drafted him in the 19th round or some bs. He didn't start on my team, so realistically I really didn't lose anything except for minor depth.
-
also fwiw, Beckham outscored Hunter by 8 last week.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 01:02 PM) If that's not a keeper league and you don't have outfield depth, that's a bad trade. I fully knew it was an uneven trade going into it, I just wanted Bacon and Hunter off my team. I could careless about his above average first half, Torii is playing way over his head. My only other 3B was Andy LaRoche OF depth... Braun Beltran Sizemore (DL) Werth let's just say I had a surplus of outfielders to basically give away. This is in a 12 team head to head as well, where a lot of emphasis on drafting ACE pitchers in the first couple rounds for some teams...justifying on how I oucld have such an outfield in a 12 team league. My best starter is Verlander, but I had to take those big 3 up there with my first 3 picks as it could have been hte most lethal fantasy outfield ever created. Could have....
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) You actually have him in a fantasy league...? yeah matter of fact, I traded Torii Hunter for him straight up, and where I now I got fleeced on that trade as of right now, this kid is gonna rake in the 2nd half. He is eligible at SS and 3B which is HUGE and strike-out very little. He was owned by over 45% of mixed leagues by his second game in the majors. So, yes I actually have him in a fantasy league and already paying huge dividends. Fanboy or not, if you wait to pick up Saint Gordon, you will lose out on him. People know what he can do and the spark a rookie like him could provide outside of Chicago.
-
He scored 21 for me last week in fantasy. Way to be Becks!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) So you wanted to bring in Thornton against a guy who is a better hitter against LHP and pretty much only hits fastballs? No, I thought Gavin was fine to start another inning with his pitch count. Once I saw Linebrink warming up and how he attempted to blow the game yestersay with the first pitch Jake Fox bomb, I knew we'd be in for a rough finish. Dotel would have been fine there as well. hey, it's easy to second guess now. Thorton arguably did worse than Linebrink did. Right now our whole bullpen sucks. Except Carassco. Still trying to figure out why we brought up Poreda?
-
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) He definately shouldn't be anywhere near the mound in close games. Why the hell was he still in there to face Soto? Cause Soto can't hit a beach ball with a bat this year. Ohh wait.
-
Loving all the optimism here, but you people do just realize the Sox blew a 4 run lead with back-to-back HR's from two guys with less than 10 HR's combined since ASB last year?? This is 2003 all over again. Ohh well, at least Beckham is up.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) bad loss on our s*** bullpen, but have to shake it off and win the series at Cin Fixed for you, but what would a series win in Cincy do? Get our hopes up before we get swept by the Dodgers at home and look like a bunch of clowndicks against the Cubs again?? We managed to end our season and give re-birth to the Cubs all in one inning. I hope Linebrink never pitches for us ever again. He hasn't done s*** for us anyways. f*** HIM.
-
Season over.
-
After such a nice weekend in Milwaukee and yesterday, back to the same old bulls***. I hate this team.
-
Figures all of Soxtalk wanting Ozzie's head when a player can't produce. Really blame Ozzie? He's managed two great games... be pissed at Linebust.
-
I don't blame Ozzie for resting Gavin with the comfortable lead... but Linebrink has been waking up sleeping giants all f***ing year. UNf***INGACCEPTABLE! I wish you would have stayed in the NL like your p****foot San Diego buddy.
-
If we lose this game, our season is OVER.
-
Who wants to bet we see Jake Fox get another crack at Linebrink here? Time to get Thorton UP!
