  1. To each his own I guess, but I really like the magnetic schedules this year. Very nice and slim.
  2. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 08:01 AM) that was pretty tame...everyone was talking about this in line Sunday morning...I missed it. And I had one hell of a haul at the Fest. Lots of signed balls...Beckham, Peavy, Putz, Thornton, 2 Pierre, Danks, Freddy Garcia, AJ and Steve STone. Signed 20x24 by Buerhle of his final pitch of the perfect game. Konerko 2005 WS jersey signed. Photos signed of Bobby Jenks, 2 of CQ, HAwk, Beckham. I think that is it. Nice haul indeed.... I missed Beckham yesterday because I needed a WS ball signed by Freddy to complete my set. It wasn't overly too bad this year crowdwise, but it still needs to be better organized. Beckham is more popular than Elvis.
  3. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) thought it was interesting, him basically saying buehrle isnt a number 1. great reading that jenks lost 25 pounds Buehrle himself would tell you that he's not a No. 1
  4. BTW, anyone that is going all weekend and is planning to go through the various autograph lines.... I have some nice stuff to trade if interested. You are allowed 2 autographs per person after you obtain the wristband for a session. Looking for Official MLB balls signed by Beckham, Alexei, and/or Peavy. I have for trade: Buehrle Official MLB ball-(signed with #56, doenst do that anymore) Dye Official MLB signed ball Jenks signed 16 x 20 photo-(jumping on mound after game 1 WS save) Crede Official MLB signed ball Ozzie Gullien bobblehead give-away from 2006 (rare) WS Mini Replica trophy give-away from 2006 (RARE) various others from past decade(s), just ask....
  5. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) Buehrle will not be signing anything perfect game related. That's bs... do the Sox have an exclusive contract with him or something on Perfect Game items? Someone must.
  6. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Anyone know if you can cut a line, with the premium pass, while you have a wristband on for another autograph? I had the "MVP" pass 2 years ago, not a bad deal, definitely helps you get the most bang for your buck with autos. Here's the deal with the cutting line(s), when you check-in, they will give you a specific session that will enable you a short wait time (or access to cut) You do not get to choose what player you get, but you CAN have a wristband for another session on while in your specific "no wait" session. You gotta kinda plan it out, but you can get a lot of autos with the MVP. Tonight (Friday) is the best for autos for regular attendees or MVP holders. For those who have not been before, take what you are imagining, and then imagine 10x worse. People actually line-up in the hotel lobby from 3AM-4AM to be first in-line for the early autograph sessions. It's ludicrous. There was so many people waiting outside the gates 2 years ago, that they started to just hand-out wristbands in line. Bobby Jenks session was sold-out 15 minutes before the show even opened. People were pissed and I was one of them. Now hopefully, the Sox continue to learn how to make this a more enjoyable experience, and heaven forbid, actually organize a bit. I may be in fact wishful thinking however, because most employees that are hired to work this event just don't care. I find if I myself expect the worst, it can become somewhat enjoyable, and at the very least worth the effort.
  7. I've taken a couple years off, but going again this year on Sunday...mainly to get Garcia auto on '05 WS Ball to complete my set That being said, I'm hoping it's a lot less of a clusterf*#% since the years right after the series win. I'm thinking it will still be over-sold though, with no organization whatsoever. Soxfest can really bring out the bad side of some fans and the organization, but overall can be an enjoyable experience depending on what you expect to get out of it.
  8. I very much support this opening, but I'm having a tough time figuring out how they are gonna get approved for an "incidental bar license" Are they really gonna try and pass off that they will sell more food than booze?
  9. I'm happy for Pods that he landed a starting job, its pretty tough not to root for the guy after all he's done to remain an effective major league ballplayer. That being said, you could almost guarantee that Pods will beat the Sox all by himself at least once this year.
  10. Nice little article, even though I'm sure it's quite biased coming from the ESPN Chicago site. But like my season ticket partner said, "Here's to the 2010 White Sox team being the best team of the next decade, I don't wanna be livin' in no past." Amen.
  11. QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Speaking of overrated, I don't understand why Garland was on this list. He was a decent pitcher and all, but only had one really good year. I'd put Freddy on that list before him. Garland= #2 in White Sox wins over the decade.
  12. Still nobody that can vouch or salute him for leaving the team during the 08 ALDS? Long Live Crede! I love people trying to spin Joe as a better person/player by comparing him to Magglio. One of the most feared hitters in the first half of the decade and our last real MVP candidate. What a joke.
  13. Bouquets of roses for an under-achieving .230 hitter for us, yet I am the one who is jaded. Don't get me wrong, I included Joe on this list, I recognize him as one of the greatest 3B defenders for a good stretch in the mid-90's. The Sox kept sticking with him, strikeout after strikeout. I can accept the lovefest in Soxdom for Rowand and now Crede will never go away, but I actually missed Rowand. So I assume that all of you think it was right to ditch his teammates in the playoffs? Didn't hear any peeps about that.
  14. QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Crede should definitely be included in there. But how did he "stick it to the franchise"? By signing with the Twins? People have always been super quick to dismiss on how big of a dick Joe was before he left. Anyone remember on how we was left off the playoff roster and then didn't even hang around or go to Tampa to watch the series or be a part of the team? How about the numerous requests for surgery, only to be ignored by Joe each and every time with the great advice he continued to trust Boras with. Crede signed with the Twins on purpose. There were other teams that were interested, but it didn't take long for Joe to decide that he would be most happy to sleep with the enemy. I'm quite sure he was happier than a pig eating s*** when he went deep in his first AB back at the Cell. Thanks for the memories, but screw you Joe Crede.
  15. I am not the biggest fan of how Crede stuck it to the franchise when he left, but he is more deserving than Rowand. Crede was the best defensive 3B in the AL for a couple seasons there, even if he couldn't hit for s*** most of the time. The dude was clutch... sleeping with the enemy now, so I could really careless about him. Maggs could/should be higher. Jose should also be ranked up 1 or 2 spots.
  16. Pass. Soxfest is the biggest embarrassment in the organization. PR disaster. Awful organization. Just as I say that, people are already lining up outside Palmer House to get wristbands for Beckham.
  17. Shame on all you haters and doubters. Bacon reigns supreme! Watch him win the AP vote as well. Way to go Becks!
  18. Will Beckham bring home the Bacon? Though not a shoe-in as many once thought, I'd still say he'd be the guy to beat with .270 average and close to 65 RBI's in the short time he played. The Beckham hyper machine was in full swing in mid-summer, and all of baseball began to take notice as hopefully we'll have 3B locked up for the next decade.
  19. This ad slogan never gets old with this team
  20. Best thing(s) about this schedule... Longest roadtrip is only 10 games. I really like to think this schdule is set up really nice for us, we won't have to see Boston and New York back to back among division rivals in one trip. Loving the fact the Bravos come back up to the Cell as well. Vasquez returns to get f'n shelled! People complaining about playing Pittsburgh??? The Mets are fun to watch and all, but lets be honest here, it is a huge break for the Sox that they miss Philly and NYM out of the Inter-league East schedule
  21. One thing is for certain, Bacon has a long way to go to lock up ROY. It would be a nice positive in this under-achieving season though.
  22. When was the last time Peter King was right about a Super Bowl? Yep, never.
  23. Rio is by far and away a much more dangerous and crime filled city to hold an Olympics, my bet is we are still the front runner and we will get the 2016 games.
  24. I guess it's time to start paying Rios and Peavy? Maybe Southpaw hasn't got as many $pecial apperances this year? Whatever the case, it's pretty damn funny when your favorite team that you purchase season tickets from send out a playoff invoice for a team 1 game over .500 What a disaster year for the PR department between empty seats, that ugly LA series, awful marketing, and now this perhaps even the biggest embarassment, playoff invoices in the middle of 11 game road-trip! Nice call!
