I wonder what the window would be like during a recent Sox game?
  2. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 19, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) KW being the selfish person he is waited this long to clarify him a bust. A real GM would lick their wounds and move on. If KW was that quick to clairfy a player a bust, Joe Crede would have never lifted up a championship trophy on a double decker bus in the loop. Is Lillebridge ready? Hell no. Is he a bust? We'll see.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 19, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) We can celebrate this. Let's not get crazy... it's not like he was sent to AA. Still only a DL stint away from returning. Hopefully he'll have enough eligibilty to garner ROY votes by the end of the season
  4. Attendence Quiz: Which will be more full? A.) The Cell B.) Bullpen Bar inside the Cell watching Hawks I know where I will be despite the weather being so nice.
  5. I think the Sox will ask him to appeal regardless, just to give the team an opportunity to get Anderson back and CQ healthy before he sits out. It will be reduced to 1 game anyways.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ May 2, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) What's that Italian Beef/Sausage place just north of the park? It's on the left coming from the south. You can park on a dead end street and walk over. You order from outside, then go into an enclosed picnic style area to eat. Is that Al's? I believe that is Al's (the one with a bunch of pennant flags in the parking lot?) I can't ever tell what their deal is though, it seems like they are very rarely open before and after games which makes very little sense. Wasn't sure if they were feeling the financial hurt or whathaveu, but it seems like it's always a crap shoot on wheter or not they are open.
  7. People are so quick to forget that Jose is all about confidence. He dominates Triple A hitters, he will be back and become servicable to this team again.
  8. So believe it or not.. here we sit on May 14th with the same exact record as we did in 2008 at this point in the season. We were really struggling going into Toronto, and ended up getting our arse kicked in that series too, but it also saw the birth of the blow-up dolls slumpbuster fiasco. Thanks Carol Slezak for thinking the Sox locker room was "youre" office. Waddle and Silvy were having a contest this morning Been there done that with blow-up dolls....what do we break out this year to get these bats going? On a sidenote, is there more doubt this year? we really didn't know what we had with CQ or Alexei last year... as well as the emergence from Danks and Floyd becoming reliable starters. We only have 2 of those right now, but this team WILL hit. They always have... where did most of the optimism lie last year at this time?
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) That is one of the stupidest songs that I've ever heard... What's not to love? It promotes two of the better things in life, Blackhawks hockey and Amstel Light!
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) I almost wish we'd had Danksy lined up for that one. It would be a great story. I doubt many Texas fans would jump on that "great" adjective... but nonetheless, I still look forward to BMac's induction to Spring Training HOF someday.
  11. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) April fool's was 3 weeks ago, cocksucker. No green. What you said. Not cool to shed paranoia on this fine Friday afternoon. Then again, it does seem to be Soxtalk's favorite holiday. The gift that keeps giving... the whole year 'round.
  12. The nice road trip won't mean jack s*** if we don't continue to come home and take care of business... Keep raking Getz!
  13. QUOTE (WinningUgly85 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) I don't remember hearing about that but I'm pretty sure I remember Crede saying last year that he wanted to finish his career here. I don't know why he would avoid KW unless SCOTT BORASS didn't inform him that KW was trying to reach him. Joe Crede never siad anything close to translating to wanting to finish his career here, in fact he couldn't wait to get his ass outta here and went to the Twins probably in spite of the Sox. He was molded to believe the Sox were out against him and never valued his presence on the team. Time and time again, Crede went against the Sox wishes for re-hab reccomondations. Boras is a big part of it, but a lot of this attiute crap falls directly on Joe too. I can understand if he's not the most out-going guy around, but that's not how our team works... and it was apperant that he was always looking after Joe Crede first.
  14. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) Lets show Crede we dont need him anymore, but applaud him in his first plate appearance I could give a rats ass on how Crede is welcomed back, can we please just get a goddamn hit!
  15. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) do authentic sox jerseys cost more in the stores at the cell? or is it just about the same? any recomendations? Authentics are much more expensive at the Cell (if they still sell them?) than in stores. Last year I think the Cell only sold the replica authentic jerseys which are really horrible quality and very cheap looking. Checkout triple threat sports or grandstand if you are pressed for time and want to look for something around the park.
  16. I love Joe Crede... but it's not like he wanted to still be here. Weve made many many suggestions and instructions to him on how to re-hab, he ignored it all and kept listening to that ass Boras. It's too bad his agent totally screwed up his payday and his career, cuase he probably should be raking by now. Crede kept beliveing Boras that the Sox were out against him, and now he sits having to completely re-prove himself as a reliable ballplayer. I wil never forget the fond memories that Joe gave me/us in our 05 run, I will never forget on how we basically had to re-tool his swing every damn year as well. He was a joy to watch defensively, despite last year, but in all honesty, he's a Twin now and I could care less that he's gone. We'll probbaly be better off, and Joe got what he wanted. Good for him, but I refuse to root for any Twin.
  17. My favorite all-time Sox pithcer. No lie. The guys is cold as ice... he got an unfair shake in 2006 wiht all of his off-season problems, and I really would have liked to think he started to turn a corner last year before what COULD have been a career ending injury. I'd expect a nice bounce-back year from the Bronze Warrior, the makings of which could very much benefit the team's chances. Coop has already gone on record to say that Jose shold bne the prototype for this type of re-hab.
  18. Whats the difference in the 2005 WS tribute statue? As far as I can tell, it looks exactly the same as it did last year. Pretty sweet out of town scoreboard.
  19. I took a last round flier on Getz in one my leagues... I think he is gonna be a pleasant surprise at the top of our order and is gonna have a very consistent good BA.
  20. I've heard no such mention of moving the game to Tuesday anywhere. 35? Snow? Opening Day a normal Monday game, who cares? There would have to be 3 inches plus on the ground for them to cancel a regular season game.
  21. Great... giving Dickey the start one week from tomorrow night at the Cell. I'll remain optimistic since we fare so well against Twins pitchers we've never seen.
  22. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) i know its off subject but i didnt want to start a thread for it. does anyone know how much an authentic cq black alt. sox jersey costs at grandstand. online it says it would be 120 plus 65 for the name. 185? i dont think so. anyone know?thanks Don't know if this still holds true about authentic jerseys at Grandstand, but in the past they have been cheaper on-line than in the store.
  23. Damn skippy those seemed to have went fast. I was able to get 2 for Game 7 in Round 1 with a big (IF necessary) tag on that one...but that's fine with all I could get. Tried for Game B or C first right at 10 and there was nothing, so happy to get reasonable priced tickets for a game, and if it is needed... what a game it should be! Anybody else try? Luck?
  24. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 12:31 PM) I was there last week and saw it at 79. The future bets made no sense to me. They have us at 79, but then we were the favorites (along with the Twins) to win the division at 4/1 and only 10/1 to win the World Series... huh???? It's all based off how much action a certain bet is getting. People are betting more $ on the Sox to win the divsion and WS (as flyers) then on their over/under totals.
