Chicago @ Tampa Bay ALDS Game 2
watchtower41 replied to nitetrain8601's topic in 2008 Season in Review
Any word on Pena? -
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) Yeah, what's with the cowbells. You are in a dome as it is, you can't make enough noise by yelling? You can't see the obvious connection between a sting ray and cowbells either? I was thinking Wrigley should have used goat bells.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) ...but it'd have to be blu-ray too. I'm an addict. They are releasing the Boston Celtics Championship video on Blu here soon, so I guess we are gonna just go ahead and win it again.

Chicago @ Tampa Bay ALDS Game 2

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) in 21 AB's he's hitting .143 against kazmir. better than Thome's 0-13 with 5K's against Kazmir. "THOME don't like it.... ROCK the Kazmir, ROCK the Kazmir!" due? -
At least we aren't resorting to lame cowbells or God forbid, thundersticks. Then again, we are not the side of town that lacks noise at baseball games.

QUOTE (letsgoarow @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 11:16 AM) yeah i got it for like 60 bucks, its well worth it! Very good price on that set. The games are shown in widescreen format on the dvd's (black bars on top and bottom) but the quality is pretty damn good, and a very nice looking boxset for the dvd collection. I wish they had this set in Blu Ray lol

C'mon guys.... Dan Wheeler. Really.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:21 PM) Scott Kazmir Starts: 27 W-L: 12 - 8 era: 3.49 IP: 152.1 H: 123 SO: 166 BB: 70 Thome needs to sit tomorrow... awful against Kazmir. Very doubtful it will happen though.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) I dont love Javy, I dont even like Javy. It just gets so annoying to hear everyone blame 1 person. Wise would be blamed on this thread too if he hadn't been responsible for the only offense we had today.

QUOTE (Felix @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) The fact that BA is in lefty while Griffey is in CF is very sad. I don't know what kind of sign some Sox fans need to get it through collective heads, but you will never see Griffey in LF. Not on this team, not on an all-star team, not on a Simpsons episode. Griffey does NOT play LF. Not comfortable with the sight lines or throwing angles, nor should he be, he's never played there is whole life.

Everyone would have 2nd guessed Ozzie to death by making the move, but the unfortunate thing is, if Richard starts this game, we probably win.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) The Rays bullpen is phenomenal. Makes me feel good comparing on how well we fared against the Bluejays pen. Ohh wait.

QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) Crede just looked disinterested at the clinching Funny, I would have been happier than a pig in s*** if I got another paycheck for this season without doing a damn thing to contribute to it. Might in fact be the last mlb check he ever gets. -
We may not score another run this year. The roller coaster season keeps moving along.

If BA was in center in the 5th inning . . .
watchtower41 replied to Texsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No doubt they would have... they were taking the risk that the Sox couldnt prevent it and we did, and I'm sure their 3rd base coach knows that Griffey is the active leader in assists. Not that he has the arm that he used to...maybe the tag up to third and Griffey's relay and throw earlier in the inning had something to do with taking the risk. -
I'm sure not that many were made to begin with... its not like they can gamble too much into one side winning. There will be more available. Hats and shirts were flying off any shelves that had them after the game last night.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) OC WISE DYE THOME KONERKO JR ALEXI AJ URIBE Something tells me we will have to pinch hit Swisher in a KEY situation tonight, he's been clutch at times before this season... merely just a huntch on my part -

One would think we should be getting line-ups here soon? -
There was also another article posted on whitesox.com on Tuesday saying his rehab is going well and he is very optimistic about re-joining the team. The cast has been removed. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws

9/24 Gamethread: Chicago @ Minnesota
watchtower41 replied to maggsmaggs's topic in 2008 Season in Review
It's really too bad Ozzie doesn't come here and listen to soxtalk members and start the wonder that is Brian Anderson. We would have clinched before the All-Star break.
