  1. Sure. And we are a much better franchise going forward with a guy like Cease learning how to be a playoff pitcher versus someone of a lesser ilk who will be gone in a year or two.
  2. I think the only people "not taking this seriously" are the ones who think we put this team together without intending to let them learn on the job. Players taking their lumps IS a part of the process.
  3. I would love to have him pitch in the playoffs, even if he fails miserably. There is no trade off for that kind of experience. You can't simulate that sort of intensity. Getting that in year 1 would be a huge push forward not only for Cease, for all of the guys on this team. Trust me when I say that there will be plenty of these guys who look overmatched in the playoffs.
  4. It's year one of being a contender. This is a part of the program. Guys need to get experience. It won't be pretty at times, but this is a part of the rebuild process. You got the Ferrari, now you need to figure out how to drive it.
  5. He's a dude that needs his innings. If he figures out his technique and consistency, he is a TOR arm and stuff. He just needs his reps to try to make that click.
  6. Sadly, that is too close for comfort.
  7. I am more of a John Hymen follower.
  8. Just over 2 hours to go until the deadline. Let's hear everyone's guesses. -Who do the Sox trade for? -What are the primary pieces dealt?
  9. Gonna need more details than this. Where are you getting it from?
  10. That isn't the worst simply because it doesn't really hit the active roster too hard, and it doesn't touch most of the top level talent in the next wave. It is kinda similar to what SD just did in terms of quantity over quality. Stiever is the biggest thing we could lose there.
  11. Kars for kids is definitely up there as well. Plus they are a con organization anyway.
  12. There is nothing worse than the Illinois Lottery's latest commercial. That one is on my all-time hatred list.
  13. Attaching yourself to the Barstool group is a deal breaker for many of us.
  14. That doesn't mean he isn't getting fed information in exchange for favors and access.
  15. This is the part where we read into tweets.
  16. I did for about two minutes, until I released the source wasn't legit.
  17. Nm, didn't realize this guy was a nobody when I split this out.
  18. He's right though. Cleveland hurting themselves this year puts the Sox in a better position today.
  19. He will just delete his account.
  20. This wasn't just "out for one night". This was a guy who lectured people on taking care of themselves and protecting their teammates, and then went out, and then when he should have owned up to it, pretending nothing happened while his teammate Pleasac guy buried, and didn't say anything until he was finally outed later on. These guys go to war together, and if multiple guys were ready to quit sooner than play with him again, that is pretty telling at the fact that the organizations hands were forced.
  21. Well hopefully the Padres paid up in a way, then again, I don't want to see these guys in Cleveland until their next rebuild either.
  22. It wouldn't JUST be Dunning. These talks have centered around 4:1 deal
