If jumping shark were an Olympic sport, this thread would be Simone Biles.

Before or after eating your hat?

Good for him. He deserves it.

Because of the threat of lawsuit, I would be surprised if the Sox called up Eloy literally the day after his clears the service time line. I am going to guess it is something closer to May 1, just to try to make it look a little less obvious.

Meanwhile in Philly... https://www.phillyvoice.com/watch-video-shows-property-managers-touring-boobytrapped-row-home/

Ugh. Can we not go here? It literally doesn't matter for the discussion at hand.

Today, and every day.

Really, the biggest difference between a guy like Machado and the 98% who don't make isn't physical, it is mental. Plenty of people have physical tools, but not everyone has the mental tools and drive to be a superstar. When you combine those things, that is how you get a superstar. That just doesn't turn off when it comes to your paycheck when you have that mentality. Forget $100 million, this is the type of person that will fight you over A million dollars.

Oops.

I mean I should charge you rent, but hey.

The funny part is the Sox have only gone $17m higher than the Padres top.

If this is true, that means the Sox offer has to be bigger than that to be still leading.

Hopefully this doesn't take until the Ides of March

A joke is never nearly as funny if it has to be explained.

The price goes up a lot with each successive year. That's why you do this early.

Yeah, sometimes waiting them out is the most effective negotiation technique and it seems like that is where we have been for a while now.

In my eyes, this is like an Olympic 10k where no one wants to be the leader, and the pace has been super slow because of it. Sure the Sox are in the lead, but they are putting up 70 second splits.

I said it last time this happened, in all of the years that shack has been on Soxtalk, he never has once given me a reason to think him a liar or con artist. I 100% believe that he believes 100% that what he has been told is the truth.
