  1. This is probably the worst day to try to be rational in the game thread.
  2. If I haven't mentioned how much I hate the pitcher batting recently, now is a good time to say it again.
  3. If you were to project out this season based on the first 34 games, and assuming zero improvement or impact from someone like Kopech and Rodon getting back to Chicago, this team is on a pace to give up 915 runs. The 1998 team gave up 931 runs.
  4. It is probably going to happen around the draft, or when Robert is back, which ever comes first. There is a whole mess of moves that needs to happen, and both of those events have a chance at being the catalyst for them. Once the Sox figure out how to break open a spot in Charlotte, there is a wave of guys all of the way down to rookie ball who are set to move up.
  5. He did, and it is something I know that was mentioned at the rally. I have met Donnelly on a couple of different occasions, once when he was still a Rep, and again as Senator. He never struck me as the brightest or most charismatic guy, but he seemed like about as straight of a shooter as you can find in this Congress. He always has voted with what he felt was right, and not what he was told to do.
  6. Which is funny because Donnelly is one of the very few in Congress who isn't afraid to step across the aisle when needed.
  7. It is crazy, but it seems like every single draft expert has a different list of players the White Sox are interested in. I don't know if it is on purpose or what, but it is interesting me.
  8. They asked and were refused. I know at one point the rumor was they had a deal done for David Robertson that got up to the ownership level and Lerner vetoed. I can't remember who was in the deal now from the Washington side though.
  9. I have no doubt the collapse of the testing facility is a part of it. But there is still no doubt in my mind that NK is getting something out of this.
  10. As famous as the families are, I would imagine so.
  11. The collapse of steel because of foreign competition is what fucked Gary.
  12. Bad assumption. Nothing has ever gotten done with North Korea without bribes, and this case will be no different. The package might not have gotten out to the public as of today, but I promise you it happened.
  13. Indiana doesn't care about Gary. Look at what Indiana did to Gary's school system.
  14. Was Soto part of the failed Robertson deal?
  15. I have been waiting for this to happen for way too long.
  16. It's funny because when he was signed, the Cubs were geniuses from using advanced metrics to find a bargain on the free agent market despite what they paid him.
  17. Most important of all, Frank's GM didn't give an interview talking about how much Frank Thomas would benefit from playing in AAA.
  18. With his athleticism, has there been anyone mention him having a future as a CF or OF in general?
  19. With what those players have been worth lately on the free agent and trade markets, the odds aren't in our favor.
  20. He is going to get a different experience. With the amount of former MLB pitchers there, he is going to see a lot more MLB style pitching where guys try to go at your weaknesses and pitch backwards, instead of guys throwing what they want to work on and what they think is their best pitch. It is something Rick Hahn mentioned specifically the other day when talking about when guys would be promoted. Reading between the lines for Eloy, there is zero chance he skips AAA.
