  1. I don't. I think if someone else with the attention grabbing personality of Ali or Tyson came along people would watch it. I mean golf became a mainstream thing for like a decade because of Tiger. Boxing just hasn't had that star power draw for a long time, meanwhile MMA has absolutely cannibalized their audience for people looking for brutality as a sport.
  2. Not a surprise. It wasn't a bad return for Jennings, but I think with his mechanical flaws, probably a guy that never makes it.
  3. Let's be honest. Boxing didn't fall off because it was brutal. It fell off because it never came up with a draw after Mike Tyson, and MMA gave people something MORE brutal, not less, and absolutely took away an entire segment of people who would have been the next boxing fans.
  4. You are building the same team we had for a decade that did nothing.
  5. If that is really the case, we are fucked. That is just depressing.
  6. And while they had some guys, I still don't think any of them had nearly the depth we did. The fact I am seeing a few names, and not 10 is kind of my point. If our rotation largely fails, this rebuild is screwed. We are looking at the mid-2020's before contention if we don't have a ton of success with our pitching. This franchise has already demonstrated it does not have the financial ability to overspend multiple scouting mistakes.
  7. Because our entire rebuild centered around pitching. We KNOW we are already going to have holes offensively. If we need front line position players AND front line pitchers, we are in a world of hurt.
  8. With the way Micker is hitting, I think a few hitters are going to be asking for holes in their UCL's.
  9. This is how I see thing. This ISN'T even looking at guys no one is talking about surprising us, or small trades, MiLB signings etc turning into the next Jose Quintana or Tommy Kahnle. Yes on the surface it sounds farfetched, but when you go name by name, it looks pretty good to me. Even when you plan for failures, there are just so many QUALITY names.
  10. So what are people's predicts for what the Bears do at #8?
  11. I still think there are plenty of options in the system for them. Between the guys who have already hit 100 mph, plus the guys who are sitting in the 97-99 range, we have probably a dozen arms still in the minors, plus what we already have here.
  12. To be fair, can you name a question that has approached radical rebuilding through a pitching first approach like the Sox have? I sure can't recall one.
  13. If the Sox really do have to go outside of the organization in a few years for pitching options other than back end filler, we are in big trouble.
  14. Think of something you have done the exact same way your entire life, and try to do it differently.
  15. They must have had a different angle because it looked like his foot was on the base.
  16. I'd rather win 70 and find out a lot about these kids than win 77 but still wonder about some of the in between guys like Davidson, Delmonico, Yolmer, etc.
  17. That is about as nasty as I have ever seen Bummer look. Gamel didn't have a chance.
