  1. This is getting ridiculous.
  2. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) Rodon's been unlucky on balls in play. And my god this ump has been bad for both sides. This. I will also say he has missed calling as many strikes as he has called balls as strikes.
  3. This has been brewing for a while. The home plate ump has been awful so far. That pitch was 4-6 inches inside.
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 02:33 PM) The stuff does still seem to be there. He's made hitters look silly this year, but clearly doesn't have a great feel for his pitches through stretches. In theory, that would make sense given his very limited workload in 2017. I think if he can have a strong 3-4 starts to end the season, we should feel mildly excited about Rodon heading into 2018 There are clear mechanical problems with him. He loses his release point and landing spot at various stretches and then isn't able to consistently get the ball anywhere near where he wants it to go.
  5. That was way inside that was called strike three.
  6. The home plate ump is really struggling as well. He is missing a ton of pitches. The strike three call to end the inning was about three inches further outside than the one he called a ball on the pitch before.
  7. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) I think Eloy and Burger will take more Bryant routes, while guys like Tim Anderson and (I believe) Moncada will take more Avi routes I think you are right on Moncada. While he has a ton of raw talent, it is just that... raw. I think he is going to take 2-3 years to get where he needs to be.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 01:58 PM) If we aren't contending by 2020, something has gone very wrong. I wouldn't say that. I mean you have to expect that at least some of these guys will flat out bust, and others will take a more Avi Garcia route instead of a Kris Bryant route. 2020 is still really quick when you have a majority of these guys in the lower levels of the minors.
  9. Very nice hit and run, great swing by Narvaez to put it where the SS had been standing.
  10. Of course Rodon gets into a boxing match with the gatorade cooler in the dugout... because we need a pitcher with a broken hand.
  11. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 01:01 PM) I'm much more nervous about the next stages of the rebuild than the trading of the big chips. For instance, how does Hahn handle future FA signings, contract extensions, drafting, more under the radar trades, etc. The exciting part from the perspective of the fans is over, crossing my fingers that Hahn and crew can make good decisions the next few years. This stage is 100% about player development. If that doesn't happen, this franchise is screwed for a long, long time.

  13. Phil Rogers‏Verified account @philgrogers 39m39 minutes ago John Lackey has worked six innings+ in 15 straight starts vs. @whitesox. Only Verlander and Johan Santana have longer streaks in WC era.
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 12:25 PM) No. I'm the only knighted moderator around here. [donates shrubbery]

  17. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 10:53 PM) So it's just pretty much out there now Kopech is the best pitching prospect in the game at this point? At some point he has got to control the walks. Hopefully the last start is the beginning of a trend.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 06:44 AM) Yeah, I'm just being salty. This is 2010 Steve's worst f***ing nightmare result of the man's career. He was a 17 PER player last year with a .530 TS%. Despite all the distraction he brings, he's a damn-good value if he stays healthy. Even if he plays part of a season, $2 million is pretty much minimum wage. I just can't believe no one would sign him to a real contract.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 08:02 PM) No he isn't. He is making less than Felicio, I mean come on.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) Those last 2 pitches were strikes. Not sure what Contreras is arguing about. The umpire has called that pitch falling off of the outside edge of the outside corner to RH hitters the entire game.
