QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) Lets not leave anything to chance then. We need to finish off this season' tank job to get #1 overall. Then Soxtalk will have something juicy to talk about all winter/spring. Rick Hahn: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Moncada first homer!
QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 11:45 PM) Hope he got the ball, knew it was gone off the hit but I was worried it'd fall into some douche's hands who wouldn't have given it back I don't think a fan got to it. It looked like it bounced off of the batters eye too far away for a fan to get it.

The ghost of Connor! Just noticed he has really struggled this year though.

Leury Garcia to start rehab assignment
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 09:04 PM) The Sox should be taking chances on just about any young player with potential upside they can get off waivers at the moment. This. Grab as many of these guys as we possibly can. Maybe 1 turns into Anthony Swarzak or JD Martinez. If not move them along and go to the next guy.

Will Eloy Jimenez get to AA this year?
QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 05:27 PM) He should be set up for a midseason 2018 MLB debut, he's about ready now but there's no point starting his clock this early. Forget about him until AT LEAST 2019.

7/26 Games

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) Melky, Gonzalez, Holland and Jennings should all be gone Holland has probably played himself out of a trade. With as bad as the market is for relievers, there isn't much point to trading Jenkins right now.

Avi Garcia to the DL
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Who gets called up? Willy? Willy is the most likely, but it is worth noting that Rymer Liriano has been pretty hot as of late as well.

Reinsdorf Needed Convincing to Trade with Cubs
QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 03:51 PM) This is where our disagreement comes from. The Cubs are our closest competitor because they are in our city AND we compete for air time, revenue, business deals, casual fans, city dollars, news coverage, sponsors, concerts, etc. They may not be close in our divisional and wild card standings but those other factors I listed matter too. And yes Cubs and Sox fans don't like the other team and want to see them fail. I live by Wrigley and see the SUX shirts right now. And plenty of Cubs fans at work have been very vocal about our Sox being bad these last few years. Because I have to deal with their crap everyday, I will root for their team to lose. Does that mean I'm not supportive of my Sox first? No. I understand that if the Cubs suck my Sox benefit from it in many ways. Cubs and Sox fans hate each other, but we have to worry about losing Sox fans to the Cubs. Those two things don't go together.

Melky thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 03:06 PM) Yeah but I thought they were actually paying Clippard. They took him to balance some of the money disparity, but technically the Sox are paying him and Yankees are paying the other overpaid guys they acquired. I thought generally speaking the Sox have a policy of sorts to not pay players who play for other teams. The Sox taking on Clippard is essentially the White Sox sending the Yankees $4 million.
