  1. This dude seems to be a pretty bad SS defensively, so it would not be really surprising.
  2. With as many complete unknows as we have, I am ok with guys like this sprinkled into the roster IF THEY ARE USED RIGHT*. *we all know they probably won't be used right
  3. Judging by numbers and previous experience, feels like a $3-5 million signing, maybe with an option for next year.
  4. That's never stopped the Sox before. But really he does help on defense in most spots, especially the way the Sox will use him.
  5. 2 fWAR last year with a negative offensive rating. Big time positive UZR/150 at 2b, positive Lf/RF numbers, and really negative at SS, 9 runs below average at 3b
  6. If you believe I have sock puppets and are being conspired againstin such a terrible fashion, you probably should be smart enough to find a board that better fits what you are looking for in social media. If you don't read other posts, I can’t do much for you. It isn't my job to baby you.
  7. Got it. You are calling him a liar and mocking him. Not sure what the over the top exaggeration and hyperbole was about, because there is about a hundred miles of space between this post and a "better haul" as was previously said, but the rumor is obviously out there, so you can save the hysterics for the next offense.
  8. He's a 31 year old journeyman who hasn't been able to stick in the majors and was going to be unemployed. There is a metric fuckton of them on the market.
  9. You sign guys like this on the FA market, and not give up your guys to get them. Getting a reliever to flip isn't the problem, it is diminishing your return by wasting your farm system to get them.
  10. It feels like Getz thinks he made 1 good trade last year so now he is doing everything he can to replicate it. It is also disappointing he still seems to have zero faith in his drafting, scouting, and development teams because he is already trading away the people he brought in for pennies.
  11. Deals like this one which keep happening also tells me that Getz has zero faith in player development still.
  12. The most likely thing is they lied to the fans about their intent to shut them up.
  13. Apparently the new market inefficiency the Sox have found is old and inexperienced relievers. So much better than experienced relievers.
  14. Bookmark this for the next time you cry about people targeting you.
  15. If Smith pushes the issue based on performance, I would understand it, I would rather not... but I would understand. There should be no scenario where we see Schultz this year.
  16. I can see a realistic path for Hagen Smith. He is a highly polished and nearly finished product. He has pitched a lot of high pressure innings in college and other leagues. He still has some ramping to do, but not so low of a number that you worry about pushing him into that 140-150 range too much. Hopefully they don't Carlos Rodon him where they push him through the levels too quickly without really giving him any minor league experience. While Rodon had the stuff, much like Smith, it took him years to figure out pitching at the major league level. If Smith is ready he will show you, then move him. If it takes a year or two, so what, this team doesn't need to start his clock any earlier than they have to anyway. No need to rush him into a historical shitshow. Schultz on the other hand should be more deliberate. He's clocked pitching once a week, for a small IP total each start, and a small pitch count. Even if he is highly effective, the conditioning deficit for him alone is enough to say already that he should be in the minors for all of 2025 at least. Get him up into the 120-130 inning range, and get him pushing to 100 pitches in a single start. Get a feel for pitching deep and how to manage his stuff for that 100 pitches, because his mental approach will be different than when he knew he was only going 50-60 pitches. He should be a time line for mid to late 2026 if EVERYTHING goes right.
  17. Usually when you set a historic loss record, you have a lot of really bad performances.
