  1. I guess it gives us another guy to trade for the next old reliever.
  2. A 22 year old reliever in A ball is a total win? Well that explains a lot.
  3. That would be the major inconsistency in this story.
  4. If he had zero protection in 23, he had negative protection in 24.
  5. They knew this was a rebuild. They knew they would be in last. But they were scared to trade Robert. Yeah, that isn't better.
  6. And we never heard a peep about him being available and/or marketed as a trade candidate. If the contention is that Getz was too scared to trade him, but also knew that this was a complete teardown both at the same time, so he held on to Robert knowing full well he wasn't in the window and at the same time a large historic injury risk, that doesn't make things better. Being scared to do the right thing isn't a good thing.
  7. That's a thought, but the actions of Chris Getz tell a different story. He acted like a guy who was thinking he could win again sooner than later, the Robert non-trade being of them.
  8. There are a million differences here to be honest. The wild thing is the Magglio Ordonez contract signed in 2004 would still be tied for the biggest contract in White Sox history, so no, we aren't going to spend out of this.
  9. The third option was to gamble on his health. Again that is a terrible option.
  10. Coming off of a career year in terms of both production and health if you really believed this was a long rebuild situation there was zero reason to not move Robert. His health being exactly why.
  11. Either he knew this was a rebuild and kept Robert, or he thought he could do something in 2024 and the immediate future that made keeping Robert worth it. Either one isn't good.
  12. You have at least this year and next to go. Longer if this front wave of prospects fails.
  13. I know that you know sports better than this, which is why I believe you are trolling us. Say you have a roster of walk ons in the Big 12 going to play at Phogg Allen. Is that a win now team? That's what we are the professional version of.
  14. Here's the fun part. While we go round and round in this meaningless contract circle jerk, even if you were to give the 5/125 to the White Sox it would move them past Cleveland and Pittsburgh in terms of their biggest contracts ever awarded, so instead of 29th, they'd be 27th. Every post on this discussion is a waste of time as it effectively changes nothing no matter who is "right".
  15. Velocity has never been the issue Chuck.
  16. I can't wait until he hits an opening day HR, and we get all of the I TOLD YOU SO posts, only for him to Tuffy Rhodes it.
  17. Sure, Joey is short for Jerry. Get with the program. Geesh.
  18. LMAO. Expert trolling. No one things rebuilding is sexy. That's a total lie. When you have a 56, and then 41 win season in succession, you don't have a season to be competitive with anyway, and it would take billions and billions of dollars worth of free agents to change that.
