  2. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:42 PM) Not that it really matters, but Flete is putting up decent numbers at A+ this year. He's old for the level, but should we really dismiss him so quickly? He is 24 and completely lacking any real exciting things about him.
  3. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:51 PM) So much for the cubs interest in Verlander. Sorry Tigers fans. Even better. Takes away an option for the Tigers to move Verlander.
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:35 PM) Jimenez/Cease > Glasgow/Newman all day, every day. Patience payed off. Even in the winter before both Glasgow and Newman got off to bad starts, it was still a way better deal.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:17 PM) Hahn said December deals got to the 5 yard line with Q but this one trumps them all Hayes reporting So much for Hahn missing his window this winter.
  6. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:41 PM) We got their #1 (Jimenez) and #4 (Cease) prospects for a mediocre pitcher. Plus we got two throw in players. As a Sox fan I LOVE this trade! No.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:16 PM) Hahn asked Theo in middle of the first inning Sunday whether they still wanted starting pitching That is awesome.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) Throughout the rebuild, I've always thought that we'll be competitive sooner than most think due to the current positions of our prospects. My guess: 2017- 60 to 70 wins 2018- 75ish wins 2019- 80 to 87 wins, potential WC berth 2020- 90+ wins, beginning of true contending period 2018 may well be worse than 2017.
  9. I think 2020 is when we hit .500 again.
  10. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) Does Robertson, Kahle, Leury, Lopez get Robles? That would be awful for us.
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) My thoughts exactly . I was saying F the Stros since it became apparent they undervalued Q. In general, there are about half a dozen other teams out there who this will be a dividing moment for. They will be able to look back and think if we had only given up a little bit more, we could have had Quintana.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) I get the feeling it will be Quintana, and it will be pretty quickly. Not half bad...
  13. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:12 AM) Was the Milwaukee stuff just board speculation? No. National reports were the source.
  14. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:07 AM) Also... I posed this question in the last Quintana thread and no one chimed in... I'll ask again: how much of a gap in "prospect power" is thee between Eloy and Tatis Jr.? One big difference is Tatis has a TON more swing and miss in his game (Jimenez K's every 5 PAs, Tatis 3.9). Power numbers seem pretty similar. Tatis has better speed to looking at SB stats.
  15. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:04 AM) Rick Hahn calls the return they got from the Cubs for Jose Quintana was "far and away the best offer." And every single rumor and statement we have seen public sure backs that up. It seems no one else would offer two top end guys.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Hopefully the reason this Q trade was completed today was so that we can turn our focus to this transaction, or perhaps one which includes our relievers to another ballclub. This will break the log jam for sure. No one else will take nearly this much detail and negotiations.
  17. White Sox have Nos. 1, 5, 20, 45, 59, 75 & 83 on the BA mid-season top 100 list now.

  21. Let's give some Soxtalk love to the Feather Serpent, Mr. ND.
  22. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:46 AM) Sorry, can't ask for a lot more than the #1 and #2 prospects from a team. For where the Sox are right now..bravo. Two top 100 prospects at the top. If you are looking quality, this was it.
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) So I guess Quintana loved Drake too, huh? I still can't believe we actually got Eloy. That's awesome. Yes, hopefully I never have to see those posts again.
