2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) It's really hard to walk on a torn ACL. It's possible, but a torn MCL makes more sense. Straight lines? No. Any kind of turns, absolutely.

2016 Republican Thread
QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) My thing is... whom do you trust MORE than her out of our current crop of candidates? They're all pretty f***ing awful in that department In terms of trust in what they say? I think Trump and Hillary are the clear bottom, and the rest of the field is a long way better. It isn't even particularly close either. In my eyes, I might even rate Hillary the worst.

2016 AL Central catch-all thread
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) Upton has a wRC+ of 53 and an OPS of .561 despite a BABIP of .359, that is impressively awful. Garcia has a .156 BABIP with his .493 OPS, for about $130 million less.

2015-16 NHL thread
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:01 PM) Teuvo has started to play better, but he was the one who got hit at the end of game 6 when STL took a penalty and he did favor his leg, so perhaps it's an injury? Regardless I can't see Fleischmann getting much playing time out there. Kane might play 23 minutes. He just doesn't play the right type of game to be very useful in a physical series like this. Like Kane did early in his career, he has got to learn to create space, and to battle in the corners. He just isn't there yet. Sure against a team like Dallas where it would be wide open, TT would be a great idea. Again the Blues of the world? Terrible fit.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) Oh that has to be bad. Doesnt all the major knee injuries show signs before actually running the tests? If he just sprained it you wouldnt really know what the injury is (like his team mates are saying) for sure until you ran the MRI to be sure. Sounds bad to me too.

Miguel Gonzalez getting called up, Danks skipped
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:31 PM) It's nice the Sox are addressing this. Even if MG isnt the answer, at least they are not content. The DH thing too.............you get the sense they are gonna act on that, but are picking the right circumstances (my own personal prediction on that-- Garcia and Sands get a few weeks to battle it out, then maybe a cheap scrap heap guy gets introduced.........and finally if nothing else has materialized they will pursue Morneau when he's ready to play and will spend $). Despite the perpetual playing of the LOYALTY meme, and the meme that the front office and management staff are complete idiots, the White Sox spent an entire winter, and most of the spring, trying to get rid of a lot of people. They brought in a ton of replacement players. In pitchers alone they brought in Latos, Turner, and Gonzalez, plus a whole slew of other minor leaguers. You can also bet they are still working the phones trying to get better players, but there is no one biting at this stage of the game. With the team off to a good start, and LaRoche's money still left to play, you can bet your house that if this team stays in it, they will be one of the leaders on the trade market, when the trade market actually forms this year. The problem is no one is willing to make deals this early into the season. Realistically you have probably got 6 to 8 weeks before teams are really going to be willing to deal away players.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) OK, but do you have a response? Who pays for public services without taxes? Considering about 45% of people paid no federal income taxes? I'd say the other half of the country.

2016 Republican Thread
If I had money to put on it, I think what you just saw happen was a grand bargain. Cruz and Kasich made a deal for Kasich to be the VP on his ticket if he can beat Trump for the nomination. I know it hasn't been said publicly, but it is the one thing that makes sense with these statements.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 10:23 AM) I know you are of a different political persuasion. But I think having watched the Dem debates seen them go into the minutae of specific bills, and go into detailed policy debates to find the edge for candidates, I just think it's absurd to be like "All people care about is sound bytes, therefore Hillary, Bernie, Trumpa nd Cruz". The dem debate has not been about sound bites. It has been about policy and who can push the most progressive, and what is too progressive. It has not been an angry temper tantrum to decide which strong man will go to congress and call them idiots and then the country is saved! Basically, this primary season has been polar opposite, so I don't understand the "#bothsides" of it. The Sanders campaign and followers have been the king of the memes this election cycle from what I have seen.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) Y'all voting Libertarian like bridges and roads, right? I've never quite understood the logistical realities of the Libertarian movement, and as such always just attributed it to being supported by easily manipulated young people who loved Ron Paul, and "get off my lawn" old people. This is just as apt as calling anyone who votes for Bernie Sanders a communist.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) This is a HUGE game IMO. The Sox have a decent shot of winning tomorrow and Wednesday, but today is the day where the pitching matchup is definitely in their favor. If the Sox can pull out a win today, I'll be confident that they'll take at least 2/3. I know what the numbers say, but there is no way I can say that the White Sox have the pitching advantage today.

Avi Needs to Go
For my two cents, I am not changing a thing about Melky right now. He is my #5 hitter and LF until he stops being as hot as he is. I am not chancing changing anything that could throw him out of his rhythm.
