  1. It wouldn't cost but a small fraction of that much.
  2. Mediocre would at least be useful. The problem is he has been the worst LF in baseball when O and D are both factored in.
  3. Glad to hear he isn't completely shut down. That is a good sign in the short term.
  4. Knowing the White Sox I would go with 2029, after a couple of up and down years, but yeah.
  5. Right now that is one Andrew Vaughn and his robust 96 OPS+
  6. Which puts him on track for 150ish next year, and then he will be ready for 180-200 innings pretty easily by 2026.
  7. 100%. And most didn't really care. Hawk was like your old uncle who occasionally went off his rocker, but mostly he was your family and you loved him. And that's the announcer by and large Sox fans under say 50 remember. They don't remember Harry, except maybe as a caricature of a goofy clown with the Cubs.
  8. The White Sox haven't had honest announcers in most White Sox fans lifetimes. I don't think most Sox fans expect them, because they have no idea who they were or what they sounded like.
  9. Also of note for the Sox, in 2024 the first pick cost $10,570,600 and the 10th pick cost $5,953,800. Jerry is probably thrilled to save $5 million next year.
  10. Now he is stating he will be back. https://chicago.suntimes.com/2024/08/19/not-done-yet-tough-season-wont-be-steve-stones-last?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=082024 Sports newsletter&utm_content=082024 Sports newsletter+CID_331276d4323eedca6e3246487652b0cd&utm_source=cst_campaign_monitor&utm_term=Not done yet Tough season wont be Steve Stones last&tpcc=cst_cm
  11. They would lose in arb then. He pretty much to be non tendered, because then they can negotiate a lot more.
  12. 2024 White Sox progress
  13. Well that's the defense that pitchers will come to Chicago for.
  14. And he managed to be last in baseball in both offense and defense.
  15. I don't understand the point of Nick Senzel, so I am with you that far.
  16. Which is way more entertaining than the brooding contrarian who really doesn't hold an opinion other than yours is wrong.
  17. Which is probably our best OF right now
  18. It's been shocking how BAD the Sox defense has been this year. Like most teams could recall some terrible hitting, but slick middle IF guys, or an OF who can do nothing but run down baseballs, but every guy we bring in seems to have worse baseball IQ than the previous guy and just suck defensively, plus can't hit.
  19. Which will be something like a 10 to 15 game improvement over this year
  20. I will also note that while it mostly lacking power, he is hitting for a perfectly respectable average. .286/.324/.314/.639 since his recall. That includes only one XBH, but it is better than most of this line up.
