  1. Obviously this was all expected, which is why he fired the most of the game day staff. Too bad he couldn't have done anything to fix this season at all.
  2. So we are back to Getz couldn't have possibly done anything to make this team better this year. This is probably a good place to end this because it is one big circle of excuses.
  3. Now keep multiplying this all over the roster, and you have 20 games lost. I would also point out that pretending that the guys who are always hurt on this team, being hurt, isn't a great excuse for why this team was bad. They have been hurt in past seasons, and they were never a 40 win team before. They grinded the hell out of the bullpen every year and it was never the worst in baseball. They never said they were going to sign a bunch of mediocre guys to improve the defense, and pretty all were worse than the guys they replaced. So while it is easy to mock the idea that a GM is responsible for his own actions, it is move after move that adds up a loss of 20 games in the standings. We haven't even gotten to the trade failures and minor league horrors amongst the position players this year yet.
  4. Literally no one said he was a savior. You were on this quixote quest to get people to name names, and then totally missed what those names were about.
  5. If Getz has no responsibility for what happens on the field, how exactly is he making things better?
  6. And that he refuses to play. As for Zavala, that was a statement of how bad the Moldy signing was if that Seby's replacement level ass would have been a major upgrade for $4 million less.
  7. So this all happens under Getz's watch, but somehow the guys who aren't here are responsible for it. You don't hear it yet?
  8. I don't think expecting this group to be a 40 win team was at all realistic. Literally no one expected it or predicted it. Acting like this was a forgone conclusion is revisionist history
  9. Let me put it this way. I fully believe if Rick and Kenny had stayed in charge, or if we had found a real GM to run this operation from day one, this would not be a 40 win team today.
  10. Paragraph after paragraph of this is all someone else's fault, and even if it wasn't, it isn't really his fault anyway because it was still someone else's fault is easy to view as an apologist.
  11. And this is exactly why you are getting accused of being a Getz apologist. Absolutely nothing is his fault, and even if it is, there is another reason it doesn't matter because he couldn't have done anything, anyway. And yes, if he can't do anything about it, he doesn't deserve the job. Get rid of him.
  12. No one is grading him on what they were. They are grading him on what he has done since he got here. He took a 60 win team and turned it into a 40 win team. No one expected playoffs, but his imprint on this roster is valid.
  13. You are missing the point. Those are just the tip of the iceberg as his internal screw ups. These type of mistakes are how you take a 60 win team and turn it into literally the worst team in baseball history. Yes, I judge him on that.
  14. I am going to keep saying this, but the Sox have $50 million committed to 2025 including Benny and literally only Benny's money in 26 and 27. It isn't like the Sox have a $200 million payroll where they need this space.
  15. Chris Getz recommended Ron883 as a poster on Soxtalk. True story, I was there.
  16. It also meant the San Diego Padres saw him as worth being part of a Soto trade for, and not some of their other more toolsy guys.
  17. I am going to say this much. For a guy like Drew Thorpe to be ranked, there has to be a lot extra there. These guys doing evaluations know what it takes to be successful, and if a guy without a lot of those plus tools is getting this much attention, the rest of his stuff must be that much better.
  18. I just want to know where the artificial barriers we have created in Latin America are coming from, and fix that problem. If it is Paddy, cool. If it is Jerry, it won't make a difference.
  19. I fully expect the repeated injuries to also start to take their toll like we see on so many oft injured players.
  20. Not to mention if a Sox pitcher is significantly out performing their FIP, it probably means that stat is flawed in this case we know the Sox D is historically bad and isn't helping anyone.
  21. Zavala is a plus defender. On fangraphs he is also basically a replacement player, which is vast improvement over Moldy. If you will also notice the entire theme of my post was all of these guys were already here and Getz blew it on their evaluations. He also blew it with guys like Fletcher and DLoach that he traded for and has buried.
  22. They also wanted Devers as the 3rd piece.
  23. I am amazed at how many Sox fans seem to be better at professional scouting than the guys the Sox are actually paying to do it.
  24. That's just it, I don't know. I would guess so as most Cubans start proball early.
