They can, and have a desperate need to get that level of talent into the system. But more importantly it is the drafting and development that really needs to step up as that is what has killed this franchise for decades.

If they didn't fire him already, it is plausible.

If they turned Wolkow into Borchard, that would be a success story.

And this is where the organization has failed so badly. They have been utterly unable to generate even replacement level players, let alone someone who will contribute on a daily basis. This has to change if things are going to have a chance at turning around.

For the record, I am with you. It is such an unimportant thing.

I think we are seeing the kinds of reasons spending some time working your way through a minor league system has some value. There are so many little things that major leaguers do bigger, faster, and better than any minor leaguer does. If you aren't getting their incrementally, it is a big leap in those aspects. I think we saw some of that with Ramos, and we are seeing it again with Ellis.
