  1. The bat has been slowly coming back, but never call him athletic.
  2. Man when he stays over that pitch it just disappears.
  3. Which is the whole point. Velocity without deception is batting practice
  4. It's all about how a batter perceives pitches. As Kopech shows you can throw 100 and MLB can kill you.
  5. That last change was it. He overthrew the 1st 2. That one almost knuckled.
  6. I wish they would at least workout Lee at 1B to give them some line up flexibility and put Vaughn at DH. It just means you cannot remove Moldy during a game without losing the DH which is horrifying.
  7. Which is why continued waves of talent are so important.
  8. UNlike the churn you are seeing at the major league level, I am all for giving guys some predictability and stability as the work through the minors. Give them clear and concise timelines and goals so that they will be on the same page. 1st half/2nd half is always solid timing for these kinds of changes as well.
  9. I think the deal is about there, I just don't Baltimore has the stones to do it unless they really think a lot less of Holliday after his debut.
  10. Of course no one would probably notice.
  11. I kind of wonder if the initial failure of Holliday so spectacularly on his first crack at the majors damages his standing kind of like it did with the Red Sox and Moncada so as to rethink shipping him out. I would be really curious if there was a scouting red flag on him during his time here, or if this was just standard fare baseball is tough kind of a thing.
  12. That is immaterial to who is manager though. But even if you had a couple of stable (not even great) relievers at the back of this pen, a game like last night, and the two Wrigley games the Sox most likely win. The last week or so Leasure and Kopech have traded off blowing late leads, and when they were too tired to do it, other guys like Tanner Banks stepped up their game to do it for them. But again, I have yet to hear a thing about how Pedro manages a game that Ozzie wasn't just as bad at. We all know he started horrible vets over rookies for way too long. He managed his bullpen awfully. He ran sub-optimal line ups out there so often, they got a nickname. I guess maybe the clown show could have distracted some of the negatives swirling around this team, but don't forget when things got really bad, Ozzie didn't hesitate to push someone else under the bus to save his own ass. And then when things got really bad, he left.
  13. Plus if most of these clowns "love" him, maybe we need to find someone who they hate because there are plenty of guys who have been so far under their potential this year.
