  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) 1. We have a Ticket Exchange section of the board, that you should use for this purpose. 2. We are only allowed to sell on here for face value. If this is more than face, or will go above face on eBay, you can't sell them here. SRO is $45 each or $90 for two, so I would guess $106 is about right with TM fees included.

  11. QUOTE (YASNY @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 09:03 AM) And our team didn't? I'm sure if there was a list of Sox fans complaints, that would be WAY up on the list.
  12. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 08:25 AM) Is this too big? THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!! And the answer is no. For today's blackout, the last thing I am going to worry about is sig sizes. Enjoy!
  13. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 08:06 AM) Welcome to the First Round Third Round of the Playoffs! I was suppose to see Jeff Corwin tonight as part of UT Pan-American's Distinguished lecture series. Sorry dude, my seat will be empty. Plus I thought you were killed by a sting ray Cleveland was round one, Detroit was round two.
  14. This should be their #1 complaint. Losing two games to Kansas City at home, thus preventing them from eliminating the White Sox.
  15. Man, I can't wait until my first big contract so I don't have to make this movies anymore...
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) So, basically the connection to Sarbanes/Oxley there is that it prevents accountants from being able to lie despite what their books are telling them? Isn't that still a good thing in this case? That piece argues strongly against the "Mark to Market" rule. It throws Sarbanes-Oxley in as a sideshow. Sarbanes-Oxley IS mark to market accounting. Basically it is the equivilant of the government saying that a few people committed fraud before they declared bankruptcy. To prevent this from happening again, they decided that every single person in the country had their budget done on a second by second basis, and if they did not fit the ratios allowed, they would be forced to liquidate all of their holdings. The idea behind the rule was to prevent fraud, and that clearly hasn't worked. The unintended consequences have been that banks have literally been put out of business that historically would not have been, because of the accounting rule changes instituted by this law. I heard an estimate where $500 of the $700 billion asked for in this package was from banks that because of this specific rule were going to be forced into this situation. So the immediate cost of this law is half of a trillion dollars.
  17. Jake Hahn, the son of Assistant Sox GM Rick Hahn, told his dad to call "heads" on the coin flip which decided whether the Sox or Twins would be the home team for this game 163.
  18. Here's a fun one... Whose to blame for this crisis? How about Sarbane's Oxley? http://www.forbes.com/home/2008/09/29/mark...29gingrich.html
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) i'm doing 866 sox game, dunno the ticketmaster one... yeah what's that one? 312 559 1212 is Chicago ticketmaster

  21. The biggest one day point drop in the history of the Dow Jones industrial average was today.
  22. CNBC is being told there will not be a second vote until Thursday at least.
  23. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) Were getting a little indication of what that would be like today. Yeah, pretty much. Stocks get blown apart, interest rates explode. Next steps would be for lending to dry up and depression to set in.
  24. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) so, how much damage does everyone think the markets will take if the government came out and said "no bailout. sorry guys. we're done debating it. " ?
