  1. After last night the whole team needs these Luckily neuticals come in all sizes, so they make them small enough even for Javy.

    Late hit
  3. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) Even though a couple of the actors turned out to have stellar careers, I think the movie will again be cast with relative unknowns. I hope so, but I get the feeling it will be a bomb with Dukes of Hazard proportions. One person I thought would be perfect was Cindy Lauper as Magenta. She even has the perfect voice for the part.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) Answering my opinions with your opinions is doing the exact same thing that I am doing. All I did was ask for the same proof that you did. The lack of that pretty much tells me what I need to know. If all conjecture and nothing backing it up is your way, you are awful good at it. I'll tell you what, I will even spot you a couple of articles. For once I want to see you post something other than your opinion. I want to see you actually get off your butt and do a little research. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8060902626.html http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.a...306632135350949 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_Reinvestment_Act http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo125.html http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1214002750...ew_and_outlooks
  5. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) I haven't gotten my email yet. Maybe I won. I didn't get anything either.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Down $2, so no. Or down $15 from yesterday's close...
  7. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) Yeah, I realize posting counterexamples isn't as persuasive as, Iz all Fannie & Freddie, blame Demz, Hassett sez so!, but I'll stick with my way. Thanks. Btw, is the Dow up 25,000 points today, too? Answering my opinions with your opinions is doing the exact same thing that I am doing. All I did was ask for the same proof that you did. The lack of that pretty much tells me what I need to know. If all conjecture and nothing backing it up is your way, you are awful good at it.
  8. So no feelings on which actors/resses would make the perfect [insertfavoritecharacterhere]?
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) Who's ready to lead? Obama warns of major economic failure back in March of 2007... http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/...ter-to-bern.php Do you really want a guy who is 4 years behind George W Bush? http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.a...306632135350949 McCain 2005 Bush 2003 FTW
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) And I don't believe for a second that he didn't have a hand in the drafting of his son. It's a matter of opinion. To me his history saids otherwise. He isn't afraid to stand up and claim credit for unpopular moves, I don't know why this one is different. People were WAY more pissed off when he tried not once, but twice to get rid of Frank. He sure didn't blame scouts then. It just doesn't make sense to me based on the Kenny Williams that has been our GM for almost a decade.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) Yes, they would. Absolutely they would. The same scenario played out in districts where they preferred one of the Presidential candidates but the Rep came out in support of the other during the Democratic Primaries.
  12. Did anyone else enter in the Cubs drawing for playoff tickets? I put my name in, I figure I would scalp the s*** out of them and buy something worthwhile, like a new TV or computer.
  13. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) I have to make a couple changes. The only point here is that Rush Limbaugh has figured out how to earn tens of millions of dollars pandering to wannabee conservatives who can not think for themselves and will say anything that furthers those mega mega dittos paychecks. Much like the Jay Mariotti threads, I don't know why anyone pays attention to him (well in AHB's case I know why). I do not believe he is an idiot, and I think he is rather careful in what he says. He is the master of self promotion and manipulating the media and the masses. Jay wasn't exactly making chump change doing the exact samethings in Chicago.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) That would be an obvious crock of s***, though. I don't think any fan would actually buy that as his real reason for drafting his own son. That is immaterial. My point is, how often has Kenny Williams really thought about what the fans think? He tells us EXACTLY how he sees things. This is the same guy who mocked the Miguel Cabrera trade as maybe catching the Tigers up with us, traded fan favorite Aaron Rowand, told Frank Thomas to hit the road, and told Toronto to suck it after they found out Mike Sirotka was hurt. If Kenny had really wanted his son drafted, and had told the scouts to do it, he would have NO problems standing in front of us telling us exactly why he did it, and not giving a s*** what any of us think.
  15. QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 01:00 PM) This statement is not a fact. Truth depends on someone's perspective. Fact is a correct statement. Didn't you ever take a philosophy class. I hated that class more than any other in my entire life. Its one of the very few things I can honestly say that I got absolutely NOTHING out of.
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 12:51 PM) I think it was a joke. As was my post...
  17. So my question is, who should (and is) being cast in the main roles? http://www.nzherald.co.nz/movies/news/arti...jectid=10527066

  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) What about John Mccain. Is he Irish, Scotish or maybe English? I want the truth! Panamanian
  21. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) You made a claim, I asked you to back it up, pointing out that the only examples of early action on subprime mortgages came from Dems. You didn't back it up, you simply repeated the claim. As for the Dem action on subprimes, you claimed it came too late. Now, I was talking about things that happened in 2001-2003. Then, you made the claim that McCain was trying valiantly to avert disaster by signing up for a Fannie and Freddie regulation bill in 2006, but was thwarted by the evil Dems. That, I pointed out, is wrong on many levels. Not to mention the fact that you apparently believe this was some example of foresight, when those Dem actions years earlier were way too late. And then, to back up your claims, you cite Kevin Hassett, a GOP shill who makes the same claims, but also doesn't back them up at all. Way to go! You don't want to back up what you say, fine, don't. But I'm not going to go spouting off just to maintain parity in the area of baseless claims. And yet you still haven't backed up ANYTHING you have posted, as usual.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) It has to do with his contract at London. Once his season was over there, he could play at Rockford. I'm pretty sure on that. OK. The whole thing with rookies having to skip the minors and either play in the Juniors or NHL thing has always been strange. I didn't know the story on Aliu at all.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:28 AM) And please...tell me exactly what is wrong with that? According to the 2000 census data, nearly 80% of the U.S. population lives within what they consider to be urban areas, a number that has probably only grown since then. 58% of the U.S. population lives in cities with a population greater than 200,000, and I'm sure a large chunk of the remainder is in the suburbs. Yes, that 20% of the population shouldn't be neglected, but as the system is constructed right now, that slice is often treated as the most important part. It's venerated as somehow the "Real america" when the real america for 80% of the population is some version of city life. The same reasons that all of the other things the forefathers had the foresight to want to protect against. They expressly wanted protections against the majority for the minority. This nation has never been about 50%+1.
  24. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are massive failures. They are perfect demonstrations of what happens when too much power exists in one spot. It also is a perfect demonstration on what happens when business decesions are influenced by lobbyists instead of stock holders. These companies should have never existed. They shouldn't be getting put back on their feet today. They need to be destroyed and returned to the banks so that they will have to take some responsibility for the crapass loans they make. Having the governement there to bail them out is exactly why we got into this mess in the first place. What ever happened to moral hazard? The government does't need to do everything for us. We don't need a super government entity to make sure that everyone gets everything in life.
