'Anonymous' Hacker Group Gets Palin's Emails
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 10:01 AM) They do. She has an official Alaska state e-mal address. But the worry of some people is that Palin was using her personal account to go around the legal requirement that all government e-mail be kept and on publci record. This is the best way I have heard it described: "Accounts suggest Anonymous was acting in response to reports that Palin took a page from Karl Rove and illegally used her personal e-mail account(s) to keep state business out of the public record." I just read yesterday that Bill Clinton sent two emails from his official address while in office, and one was a test. No one uses their official email from the sound of it.

Media Bias: Perceived or Real? To what extent, and where?
QUOTE (Cknolls @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) Sen. Barack Obama has launched a new Spanish-language TV ad that seeks to paint Sen. John McCain as anti-immigrant, even tying the Republican to his longtime conservative talk-radio nemesis Rush Limbaugh. As first reported by the Washington Post, Obama's ad features a narrator saying: "They want us to forget the insults we've put up with...the intolerance...they made us feel marginalized in this country we love so much." The screen then shows these two quotes from Limbaugh: "...stupid and unskilled Mexicans." --Rush Limbaugh "You shut your mouth or you get out!" --Rush Limbaugh The narrator then says, "John McCain and his Republican friends have two faces. One that says lies just to get our vote...and another, even worse, that continues the policies of George Bush that Will the media go apes*** over Barry's new immigration ad like they did last week over McCain's sex ed ad? Wasn't it McCain that Limbaugh said he would rather vote for Hillary than?

Crede Likely done in Chicago
Realistically at this point a multi year deal is out of the question for Joe Crede. At this point is a major league deal even a possibility? I am guessing at best he gets a large bonus based on something like ABs or games played instead of much money up front. I could see him getting like a million dollar deal with backloaded incentives to push it towards 6-8 million dollars. The question is, if that is what is on the table, should the Sox offer this to Crede?

Parental Units - Halloween costume stuff
We looked around and found a nice Elmo costume for Mads last year, which she still likes to drag out of the closet to wear around the house when she plays. We didn't spend too much on it. The other thing to look out for is the prices really come down as you get closer to Oct31.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) No it was Reagan They should have sent out economic stimulus checks. No green needed. Reagan was the central figure in making USSRs biggest assets and income nearly worthless.

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) What about Po Yu Lin? If i recall he got a pretty fat signing bonus and he's not on any lists. $300,000, but I don't believe he was in the Appy League.

Oney Guillen
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) If Oney's last name wasn't Guillen there would be a handful of posters here using him as an example why the Sox's farm system is so bad. And yet here is a handful of posters using him as an example of why the Sox farm system is so bad.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) So, later yesterday, she clarified and said she didn't think that either McCain or Palin had the experience to run a large company (She won't be going on the tele too much anymore). Here's the question though. Now that the U.S. government has bought itself the nation's largest insurance company...don't we need a president with the skill to be CEO of a large company? She actually said all of the people on the major Presidential tickets couldn't run HP in the full story.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
My first Robin Ventura memory was tuning into the College World Series when Stanford and Oaklahoma State played each other. I watched because I wanted to see recent Sox first round pick Jack McDowell pitch. That day he and a reliever ended Robin's record 58 game hitting streak. I remember watching it thinking how nice it would be to get ahold of him, especially because at the time we were running a s***ty converted left fielder by the name of Williams out at 3B. My favorite two Robin memories were the walk-off homer against Goose Gossage, and the walk off grand slam single in the World Series for the Mets. It took me a really long time to forgive the White Sox for low-balling Robin out of Chicago. I didn't go to games for a couple of seasons after that.
