  1. Who ends up in jail first, OJ or Elijah?
  2. a nice little outfit always works as a gift. You don't need to worry about gifts for the couple, just the baby.

  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) I hope this isn't too big. I took it with the phone and I can't figure out how to resize it properly. Night 1 at home was uneventful and we even got more sleep than anticipated. She's eating 2 oz every 2 hours and then right back to sleep. Hopefully things continue to run this smooth. Ah, yes a crowned princess already She is beautiful, and hopefully she keeps cooperating.
  5. No flatout denial means he is still being looked at in some respect.
  6. QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 01:42 PM) In other news, Rick Hahn was on the Score a few hrs. ago with Mulligan and Hanley. Among his thoughts: - happy they got O. Cabrera and Linbrink, both were targeted. - foresees another addition to the bullpen, they are focusing more on strikethrowers vs. the Sisco types - not shocked to miss out on Hunter but surprised he went to LAA - when asked specifically about Fukudome, says he didn't want to converse about specific names but stated they have done a lot of scouting in the Far East - they are looking hard to upgrade the OF - optimistic something will happen this week but there are ebbs and flows of these meetings, optimism turns to pessimism and back to optimism again - Anderson has been rehabbing from a sternum injury which he picked up rehabbing the wrist. They will know in a week or so whether he'll go to winter ball. Sox want him to, Anderson also wants to go. - By all accounts Crede is progressing nicely in his rehab Nice info, but were any Aaron Rowand questions asked? I'd be curious what their reaction would be, as that might be telling of what is really going on there, especially with all of the conflicting info that is out there right now.
  7. Wow hopefully this ends peacefully
  8. So this makes two instances that were either complete lies or greatly exaggerated including the one with Marines at Haiditha http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2007/11/...show-up-at.html
  9. An interesting update from the people who hit emminent domain into the Supreme Court. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/20...lopment-setback
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) Obama, Bloomberg chat over eggs, potatoes. That would be a bodyblow of an endorsement...
  11. Maybe it is my maturation as a voter, but I could care less about Romney's religion, Obama/Richardson's race, Hillary's gender, or any of the other potential "firsts" held in this Presidential election. I have been trying to strip away all of the superficial stuff, the media portrayals, and the other stupid stuff, and dig right into what the candidates are running as. I have spent a lot of time already looking at platforms and positions. I really don't like that two of the top guys in the race, have seemingly switched opinions on key issues, such as abortion (which isn't as big of a deal to me) and immigration (big deal to me). If I had to rank people right now it would probably look like this. Thompson McCain Paul Huckabee Guiliani Romney The rest of the field. Alan Keyes
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 12:00 PM) You think Romney is too far to the right? Or is he the scumbag? I guess I should have left a category open for those without a spine too...
  13. Ugh. Its pretty depressing to see the polls pretty much inverse to who I like. We are either going to end up with a guy who is too far to the right, or a guy who is a scumbag. Blech.

  15. The Knicks are the perfect example as to why statistics aren't everything. With the talent they have on paper, their record should be reversed. They need to fire Isiah totally, melt it all down and start over again. They are such a mess.
  16. QUOTE(NCsoxfan @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 09:10 AM) You think a Chris Carter / Heath Phillips package would get it done for Bay or am I dreaming? You are definately dreaming, they will want pitching, and more pitching. They have no interest in our forth or fifth best pitching prospect.
  17. Glad to see Thompson with a little bit of a bounce. Also has Guiliani just given up on Iowa? He is getting killed there. It really makes NH very important for him.
  18. Didn't I see that he was asking for more than Linebrink got?
  19. QUOTE(iamshack @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 12:29 AM) I don't believe that that offer was ever made. And personally (not that it matters), I don't feel very comfortable with making any deal that includes both Danks and Gio in it. Along with Fields, you're talking about giving away what, 5.5 years of major league service time at the league minimum, and then a few more years at well-below market prices as they reach their first years of arbitration? It's just not worth it to me for one player, not with our current financial situation anyways. If we were the Red Sox, Dodgers, Yankees, Mets or Angels, maybe, but not with the way things look for us right now. I guess as high as I'd go would be Fields/Danks/Sweeney/Broadway. And if that doesn't get it done, so be it. I'd much rather go out and sign Andruw Jones and keep the prospects than give away so much young pitching. This is Kenny Williams we are talking about here. This is a guy who loves to chase the superstar. Why would you think he wouldn't be pounding down Florida's door trying to get a superstar, who just so happens to have a mutal love affair with his volatile manager?
  20. There is no doubt in my mind that the Marlins are the most dishonest franchise in professional sports right now.
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 08:11 AM) Looking at the questions asked of the Dems, there were some conservative sounding questions there too. So really, the only difference here is that the tough question was asked by someone who works for a Clinton-related organization, right? Look, I've been as critical of Clinton as anyone here, but my response is still... so what? I could care less if one of those questions asked of the Dems that was uncomfortable was asked by someone related to a GOP campaign. It makes no difference. Keep in mind these are the same Democrats who refused to do a Fox News Debate because of their "bias". So basically it is OK to sneak in through the backdoor with questions, but they aren't willing to give the same courtesy when the other side tries to do the same thing, well except they want it honestly and openly (instead of through proxies). I can't say that it doesn't surprise me, its just pathetic that it comes to this. I would much rather see a debate where tough questions are asked, and I don't have a problem with all parties asking them. It would just be nice if they were willing to play by their own rules. Heck I miss when debates were actually debates. These pre-programed beauty pagents bore the s*** out of me. Yeah, it was more entertaining, and enlightening, just what happened to honesty and fact-checking?
  22. On the good news front... Crude Oil is down under $90, while gasoline is quickly re-approaching $2.20. Crude is down almost $10 from its intraday highs, and about $8 from its closing highs. Also natural gas is back under 7.50. Stock futures are up over 160 in pre-open activity.

  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 08:23 PM) So, Media Matters, of course, has at least catalogued some of those so as to allow a baseline of comparison with what came up during the Republican debate. While obviously none of these are exact parallels, given that presumably none of these folks are allowing their names to be publically presented as high-profile endorsers of another candidate, I believe they at least help give an answer to your question (and please note, this is not a defense of CNN's failure to do a background check on this guy or whatever it was that allowed him to ask a question, merely an attempt to answer NSS's question) So what are their connections to the Republician party? And to follow that up, were one in four people asking questions, connected to the Republician party? I don't know if there is an actual conspiracy or not, but you would think when you have been tagged with the derogatory nickname the "Clinton News Network" you would at least make sure people working for the Clintons weren't asking the questions http://washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a.../111300093/1001
  25. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) I wouldn't say a "really big raise". The overall contract will be big, but annually I can't see it being more than a couple more mil that he makes now ($12 mil). Now that he moves to West it will help, but we shipped him out because he was apparently too expensive for us to resign. So we trade him for a SS (who like Garland, should see an increase in his numbers moving to the Cell) who will be really expensive to resign just because it saves a few mil this season? I don't see it. We'll be in the same position next year having to trade most likely Konerko. We can't continue to keep shipping out more talent than we receive. Add into the fact that we resigned Uribe at $4.5 mil, and the need to acquire payroll space from a Garland trade is even more puzzling. How exactly do you handle your checkbook? Do you spend into the negative just because its only a few dollars more? The Sox, just like you, only have so much money they are alotted. They only have so much in revenues, and that is what they are allowed to spend. Just because it is in the millions doesn't make it any different from us who deal in hundreds and thousands of dollars. If you go three dollars over what is in your bank account, there are consequenses for it. Sometimes you have to live paycheck to paycheck if you really want to live highlife.
