  1. So Oil rallied like crazy again today, up about $3.50 to get over $98 a barrell. It looks like we are going to get at least one run at $100. Stay tuned.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) I'm actually OK with that. Although I don't think what Clinton did was removable. But I can understand the need to fully investigate and prosecute any legitimate violation of the power of the office. I think that the Bush administration should definitely be fully investigated for a number of things. These investigations by Congress have been sadly not coming along nearly as quickly or with as much force as the GOP hacks like to claim, and they haven't been nearly as thorough as I'd personally like them to be. See that is the fun part of deciding that some laws are OK for Presidents, and other people in power to break... They just take it a little further each time. Well if purjury isn't a big deal, why should X be a big deal? Its the old slippery slope.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) Fred Thompson is more of an empty suit than anyone else out there right now IMO. Media age or not, I think he's pretty disconnected from a lot. It's not that he acts like its still 1980, I sometimes think he thinks its still 1980. I'm not sure what the labels you are using exactly mean, but when I have sat down and listen to his specifics on his policies, he is one of very few candidates who is saying things that I can actually agree with. He isn't just parroting party and money positions. He has been willing to take unpopular stances, and take positions that are against his own personal beliefs. I haven't seen that from any other candidate so far. If that is an "empty suit" and "1980", well then I guess I love the 80's. Give me that anyday over the same old recycled crap leading both parties thus far.
  4. Its seems the "big fish" comment from Kenny, was acutally right after being asked about Miguel Cabrera, if you read the context of the interview the way that the USA today has it written up. They ask him if they realize that they might have helped the Angels get Cabrera, then Kenny talks about landing the big fish. Really interesting to say the least. Could the Hunter stuff be a smoke screen to swoop in and get MCab? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/20...era-dealt_N.htm
  5. They are talking about rain switching to snow tomorrow... Damn, I am glad I don't have to fly anywhere this Thanksgiving!
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) Do you want me to name the exact BA writer or minor league scout it's coming from? I guess it would be a golden rule moment for you... If you are going to demand "proof" from others, it probably is a good idea for you to live up to the same standards.
  7. Bill Richardson also served as energy secretary under one William J Clinton. If he drops out relatively early, with the race still between Hillary and anyone else, he will endorse Hillary.
  8. Another take on Mormon-gate http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/pos...ThhZDk2MjEzOWM=
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 09:46 AM) I think it's funny how people think the decision will come down to which team Hunter thinks has a better chance to be competitive. It only has to do with money and years on the contract. And southsideirish....I respect your opinion that it's a done deal, but don't going around saying it is unless you actually have some type of proof. proof? You post stuff based on what you have "heard" all of the time, and we just accept it, why it is different for him?
  10. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 09:45 AM) Well, finally a Prez candidate is getting the right idea on this one. Too bad its Mr. Scumbag Giuliani. Rudy endorses NorthSideSox72's Virtual Wall Plantm. Trademark it quick!
  11. It really looks like people are united around Obama as the "not Hillary" candidate. If Edwards finishes third in Iowa, he will circle the drain quickly.
  12. Too bad for Thompson it is the 21st century now. Like Richardson on the left, he is a guy that is getting killed by the media era, but is probably the best candidate out there on the right, but their message and their styles just don't play well in this media and money age. Its too bad really.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) I don't think the Dems thought he was of questionable credibilty with the Valarie Plame affair. The irony is that if you stop and think about it this has "Clinton" written all over it. They love to dealt stuff out through proxies, and anytime they get caught doing something bad, the first thing they do is blame the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy". Its pretty much identical to questioning "patriotism" anytime something bad is brought up on the right side... As long as you have that boogieman to blame, you can skate. The Clintons did it for eight years in office, and there are no signs through this campaign that anything is changing now.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 06:49 AM) They do. It goes along the lines of too bad they are doing that, we'll have to spend our hundreds of millions of dollars elsewhere. Have a nice day. You are missing the point, all the focus on the illegals comes at the expense of legal tourists and the innocent Americans who rely on that trade. There are several people here who point to Mexico's laws and how Mexico handles immigration, especially from the south. here is a typical post reflecting that view. But you keep leaving out the hundreds of millions of innocent American's who will end up bearing the cost of illegal immigration in the long run. As our Presidential candidates have pointed out on many occasions, social services aren't cheap, and neither is supporting another 100 million people to our south who pay nothing in taxes, yet are receiving American dollars as their second biggest national revenue source. Let's not play like this is just a benefit for the US with no cost to us. Yeah innocent people are going to get harmed no matter what happens, but it also isn't the rest of the countries fault that a sector of our country based their economic status on illegal activity. If the standard is that you can't stop something that could economically hurt people, you are telling me that you shouldn't stop the illegal drug trade, pirating media, black market activities, car theft chopshops, etc. No, we have laws for a reason, and we shouldn't be held hostage to a small portion of our country who believes our laws are for everyone else.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 02:25 PM) I have taken every step to keep the wiggles and barney out of my house. I have introduced my son to Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Chilli Willi, Droopy and the rest of the old time cartoons. I had it all taken care of, and then the damned in-laws stabbed me in the back
  16. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) Why in the world would KW trade Garland and keep Contreras I will never know. Thanks for the 2005 World Series champion, Jon. We'll miss you. Because no one was going to give us anything worth a s*** for Contreras

Any and all things The Wiggles related.
  18. Real GM seems to think it is the Angels who are looking at making a high impact trade for maybe Cabrera... http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_fromtheu...ox_for_garland/
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) Funny that you bring that up. I just saw a quote from Kenny, something like... wait, here it is... "We're not done yet. We're still trying to land a big fish," Williams said. Pun intended? Nice catch. Freudian slip I hope...
  20. Thanks for the memories Jon. I was glad to see him beat all of the "Judy" haters, and become an anchor of the rotation.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 08:29 AM) So what is the story if this is true? http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=23467 http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPolitics.asp?Pa...L20071119c.html

  23. Well we got the SS that everyone said we needed Somewhere AnthraxFan just creamed himself.
  24. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:02 AM) You are missing the point. The shoppers we are talking about come here legally. They view the fence as Anti-Mexican and makes them feel like they are not wanted, even though they are very much wanted by us. The anti-Mexican sentiment is tough for people here legally, even just as tourists. How can the general public tell the difference between a family here legally and illegally? Is that the environment you would choose for a vacation? So what about anti-American sentiment? Why would anyone want to come into an enviornment where the local laws didn't matter at all? Where people can just show up and take what they want and send it home, and get defended for it? I don't think its the kind of enviornment people want to take a vacation in either. The ignorance of labeling things "anti-Mexican" pisses me off more than anything. I am sick of it being a racial thing, when people actually feel that laws are made to be follow, and not just for a favored few sets of people to be able to ignore. The Jesse Jackson playbook of labeling anyone who disagrees is lame. If anything this country has bent over backwards to be "Pro-Mexican" as they have allowed millions upon millions of people to be here pretty much at will, without any consequeces, all of the way asking for more. I am anti ALL illegal immigration. I don't care if they are white-faced Europeans, black-faced Africians, or people from our southern border, or anyone else. The entire world expects us to be their economic base, yet they see no need to respect us or follow our laws. I am all in favor of adding immigrants in a fair, orderly, and smart pattern. I am not in favor of having those terms dictated to us by people who have no respect for our laws and institutions. Keep calling people like us racist if you like, that's fine. I don't expect anything more. Just don't expect us to stand by and be happy about anarchy in our country.
  25. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 09:24 AM) So you're in favor of an policy that will destroy a region's economy here in the US? So you're in favor of a policy that will destoy a nations social benefits system?
