  1. There is 100% a difference between the quality of questions that get asked in various media markets. That isn't to say that they all get answered, because that is absurd, but there are markets where sports media is will to ask.
  2. There is no overlap between the Bulls and White Sox. None. I don't know how people think there is, but no.
  3. Wait, so you really think that all media markets are like they are in Chicago and give all softball questions and wait around patiently for access?
  4. Hence lies the problem. This isn't a problem in places like New York, Boston, and Philly, as the media as a whole is will to ask tough questions. And since you can't ice out everyone, it is effective. When the media as a whole is cowards in a market, it doesn't work. In Chicago, they are lapdogs who are afraid to break from the back, making it easy to punish anyone who strays. It is the number 1 reason we never get anything tough asked or answered.
  5. The first question to ask is why would he want to come to Chicago as opposed to everywhere else.
  6. I mean if you really need this, here is a start -I would have loved to hear a question asked about the Tony LaRussa hiring process -The backslide in health the last few years -Wes Helms/Omar Vizquel and that whole thing has never been answered for publicly. -How much influence Tony has on acquisitions -What is the status of Tony's future with this organization after two underperforming seasons in our "window" that Rick used to talk about
  7. There is space between 0 and 100. Chicago media is about 1.5.
  8. Sure. And because they all do it, they are all afraid to step out of line.
  9. As ivory towers of an answer this is, I do think that if this was really a worst case scenario kind of thing, I would expect Colas to go out in a trade in the next month. No one is going to tell us what happened, but if he gets dealt, that could be a clear statement by itself.
  10. Listening to this and am full of regret. Guys like this get these interviews because they play nice at their regular jobs. They never ask the tough questions, they never push on the BS narratives, and they never follow up to the ridiculous stuff we get fed. Now he get the gift of hanging out with Rick Hahn for a half hour. I shouldn't have wasted my time. The toughest questions in here should have been asked years ago, but again, they didn't.
  11. Most aren't errors so they hide in the box score. It just makes it look like they don't care.
  12. Thinking back, didn't Colas kind of do similar to get himself out of his deal in Japan? Claimed it was unfair or something and then fought for his release?
  13. I mean we all know Chicago sports media is a bunch of lapdogs. They are the bitches of the ownership groups because they are afraid of being blacklisted.
  14. You almost can't promote him now. Why would you reward him for a temper tantrum?
