I can't believe the Pirates pitchers didn't throw at anybody this whole series. If your guys get hit 11 times, you think you would throw at someone before the 9th inning of the 4th game of the series. If that is the kind of loyalty that exsists there, they will fall apart quickly.

If there is that kind of market out there for Maggs, they will offer him arbit for sure. If he leaves Chicago he is going to be getting some money from someone, and isn't going to care about a one year deal from here.

Nice offensive preformance again with the Sox pounding out 14 hits. The only starter who didn't get a hit was Pauly, but he drew 3 walks.

Ortiz has had some rough outings, but I gotta say after seeing the job that Cooper did with Loz and Scho, bring him in and let's try to fix him.

Too bad for Arnie. Espesially since it doesn't sound like he pitched too badly.

That must have been the dog they showed laying accross the aisle and taking up the whole thing. That dog was a monster.

Think about this. We had 5 hits. One hit was a HR, no smallball possible there. Olivo stole second when he got on. Thomas and Lee had singles. Thomas is never going to steal, and it is about impossible to play little ball with Konerko and Lee. Willie had the other hit, and that was a one out single in the 8th. Sox are down 4 runs, so you aren't going to take a chance there as you need baserunners. So what exactly could they have done differently? The answer is nothing. Carlos getting picked off had zero to do with who the manager is. He has been picked off before, and will be picked off again with Ozzie in the dugout. That is Carlos, and he is prone to having his head up his ass from time to time, and it would matter if Jesus himself were in the dugout, Carlos's mind would start to wonder.

I am thinking after the whole Borchard thing, that the Sox will avoid a guy like Fields if it means that they will have to give him a bigger bonus to keep him away from the NFL. We seem to be having better luck with just taking the best guys out there.
