  1. I think this is hysterical. The pols are all in an uproar because *gasp* the people get to decide what they want, instead of waiting for the politicians to figure out who is going to grease their palms the most. It is obvious that whatever the pols are doing isn't working, because if Wal Mart didn't think they had a chance, they wouldn't go directly to the people like this. All this screaming is just about a bunch of government workers, whose cushy jobs just became a little less important.

  10. I was curious so I went back and did some research. In addition to breaking the most people on line record yesterday, opening day also registered the 2nd most posts ever in one day with 1974 posts. The record still stands at 2045 on July 2nd, 2003. The old 2nd place total was 1947 posts.
  11. The Sox ask to open on the road. That is why it happens every year. They want to push off of the home opener as long as possible to try to get better odds for good weather in Chicago.
  12. Exactly. Either the FDA ignored the problem, or their testing was so piss poor that this all was missed by the safeties.

There is a million ways to get away with this stuff. The thing is because of the complexities of corporate accounting, the IRS collects more money per hour of work chasing the little man, than it does chasing the Microsofts of the world. And with the limited manpower of the IRS, you have to make these kind of choices of who to go after.
  14. That is what I was getting at. I think there is much more than just one cow that has had CJD. Obviously a significant amount got through somehow.
  15. Hmm now who said they were going out bowling and drinking?

More than 60% of U.S. corporations didn't pay any federal taxes for 1996 through 2000, I am sure this is Bush's fault as well
  21. I am looking to deal Morgan Ensberg for a 1B. I put out proposals to five different people. Check your teams and get back to me.
  22. There is going to be something in there that can be used against him. Even if it isn't legitimate, there will be something that can be interpretted as a failure. Personally, I think there is plenty of blame for the Bushies and that is why it is being delayed.
