  14. *sigh*... I posted this information yesterday... Ah Steff you know the "I need a link" crowd. Until today there weren't any stories that had these tasty tidbits in them, that could be referenced on line
  15. Doesn't player motivation fall under the realm of the manager? To the main extent how a player plays is up to the manager, but good managers have the ability to get players to reach higher levels than they would on their own. Look at what Mike Scocia got out of the Angels last year. Look at the job Tom Kelly did with terrible teams in Minnesota, also the Montreal teams that were young and overmatched of years past. We chronically have underachieved under the tenure of Jerry Manuel, dispite frequent changes to improve talent. Let me try that again so it makes sense... To the main extent how a player plays is upto HIMSELF,...

  17. out of those 5 years, how many have we overachieved, and how many have we underacheived. that is the true mark of a good manager. Not the crap about oh you shouldn't have put that pitcher in... it is the results on the field. And with the talent that has been provided Manuel he should have been better than he has done.
  18. Finally printed proof. Now to go reak some havoc on those damned Cub fans who jumped on their high horses about how great Cub fans were and how they would never ever do something so low class... :finger
  19. Hey Rex, what is the scouting report on Almonte. I have seen his impressive numbers for years now, and I am curious why he has never really gotten a shot at our pen?
  20. He has been a chronic underachiever who has failed in motivating key players constantly. To me is seems obvious that his style has lulled the team into a sense of complacency. You rarely see any sense of urgency or desperation with this team. Everything seems WAY to relaxed to me.

Yeah I was in the second row next to the pen and was thinking the samething. Our whole pen was empty, before their bullpen door was even open. And like I said earlier I was glad to see Loiaza leading the charge.
  22. It's tough to steal 15 when you're hitting .174 and have an OBP of .255. Regardless 2000 - 13 swipes 2001- 17 swipes 2002 - 1 friggin swipe, and he batted .264, .005 below 2001's average That's my point 1 steal and we are not even 1/10th of the season! To compare full season #'s with 14 games with of #'s doesn't make sense! Check a calendar The year is 2003 D'oh!

  24. People complained that it was cold for Wednesday's game, and that's why nobody showed up....I said "It's not exactly Serbia" because 50 degrees is nothing. In Serbia, -50 is as common as 50. I think you mean Siberia, not Serbia.
  25. :fyou And when I get over the earache, sore throat, 102 fever, and runny nose I'll say more. Asshole. Obviously, illness is a legitimate excuse. I thought that went without saying, but apparently not. Saying "it's too cold" is what will keep the Sox payroll the same for 2004 as it is in 2003 -- and Sox fans will have only themselves to blame for it. I think what she is saying (and I might be wrong steff) is that she GOT that from going last night...
