I guess what you need to think about is.....would you want Culpepper on your team? I think if you get Culpepper away from team disfunction and he could be a superstar. I was hoping somehow he made it to the free agent market but no such luck.

An interesting thing I noticed. As we are all jumping off of bridges because of Jon Garland, take a look at the Twins. Did anyone realize that they have two starters with worse ERA's than Jon, including their #1 starter, Brad Radke at 7.84. Also Rick Reed with a 7.54 era, compared to Garland's 7.32.

Yeah looking at the rankings they had Busch Stadium and Arlington Stadiums WAY overrated. Minute Maid was too low, as was The Jake.

The next few weeks will tell a lot of the character of this team. We have a big early series at home against the Twins, and we also have a HUGE west coast swing against team that have just kicked our asses in the recent history. If we go out west and get killed again, I will be ready to say same old s***, different year. But if we can go out there and hold our own, playing about .500ish ball or even a game or so worse, I will be ready to talk about expectations.

but fogg has a 4.00+ era with a low whip. care to explain that? For what ever reason Fogg can't pitch out of the stretch effectively is what it sounds like to me. Once runners get on they tend to score.

Why do you think the MLB has had all of the labor strife and problems that it has had? Next to hockey is the worst managed of the professional sports. The NBA has almost ideal labor conditions and it shows. They don't have nearly the problem with failing franchises, they have a drug policy, and none of the animosity that exsists between owners and players, that prevents anything from getting done easily.
