  1. Don't get me wrong. I am not into the Tony LaRussa, Larry Bowa style of b****ing about everything trying to pick up an edge. But once in a while as a manager, you HAVE to lose your temper, just to show your troops that you care. That was a huge run, and Jerry didn't really seem to give it the importance that it was. He should have argued until he was ejected.
  2. I think that the explanation is pretty simple. Yes the Michael Moore incident is fresh in MLB's minds, and the last thing they want to do is link the national past time to the anti-war movement by honoring two of its most visible leaders. Plus as with Moore, you give them a chance to give baseball a PR nightmare by having happen at a Hall of Fame function. Agree with it or not, it is best for the image and ideals of the game.
  3. What is your guys take on the play at home plate in the 8th? Was he safe or out? And should JM have gotten himself thrown out in order to try to fire up the troops?
  4. And you can see the GM of the Rays going Jaime Navarro? Hell NO!!! Even I have standards!
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-d...ov=ap&type=lgns The DRays are working out John Rocker, and might sign him to a minor league deal. :puke
  6. He got bombed again last night giving up 7 runs. What is going on?
  7. The Sox have never seen the Indians starting pitcher tonight, Davis. The Indians are could be a bargin at +160!
  8. Where did you guys find all of the smilies at?
  9. If the team continues to tank it won't be long before there are only 5-6000 a nite at the Jake. The novelty has worn off. It has already started. Attendance has dropped by 10,000 a night from 2000-2002, that is about 840,000 less total tickets sold. This year, while still a sell out, was also the lowest openning day attendance in the Jake's history also. I could see the Indians attendance falling to the mid 20k's this year, if they don't get really hot soon.
  10. My point all along was if they were such great fans, they would still be supporting the team now. There also would have been more than 5000 a night going to Muni stadium in the 80's.
  11. This is kind of redeeming to me personally after we had to listen to Indians fans who proclaimed themselves the greatest baseball fans in the world because they sold out the Jake every night. Turns out they are just a bunch of bandwagoners just like I suspected all along. To the people jumping off... :finger
  12. For his sake, I hope so!
  13. So who has the worse job, the body doubles or the information minister? And the whole leg thing might change the answer!
  14. Looks like Jaret Wright is never going to be the pitcher that Cleveland touted him to be. Too bad arm injuries really hurt him.
  15. Is Malone ever going to get any control? He will never be a big league pitcher if he can't stop walking people.
  16. I believe the biggest reason that a lot of people are avoiding public displays is the result of the 1991 insinuations that we would help those who tried to overthrow Saddam. Then we they tried we were no where to be found and approximately 100,000 Kurds got gassed for it. Plus with it being public knowledge of Husseins torture and terror tactics, plus the huge misinformation effort that is the only information a normal Iraqi would get... well I wouldn't trust the Americans quite so easy either. I really was surprised that many people did go out in public and demonstrate and celebrate. I really believe in the back of most average Iraqis mind is the belief that Saddam and his crews could be back at any second.

Kw will never resign Siro, after what Sirotka implied from his trade to Toronto. For what ever reason there is no such thing as bygones for Kenny.
  20. While I agree with the deal, I am not sure why JM never gave Foulke a real chance to win back the closers role last year. Espesially after re essentially refused to bench either Carlos or Frank when they slumped badly last year.
  21. Wow can we get Jon Rauch up here for a few starts before we send him to Cooperstown? He wasn't even good enough this spring to beat out Loiaza or Stewart...
  22. We definately need the banging the head on the wall one! That is the PERFECT one for Carlos Lee lately!!!!
  23. So the Best Damned Sports show lost its Period??
  24. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays placed pitcher Jim Parque on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with tendinitis in his left shoulder. Parque allowed six runs, five hits and four walks in 1 2-3 innings of Tuesday's 8-7, 10 inning win over Baltimore. In his two starts, the left-hander has given up 13 runs, 12 hits and nine walks over 6 2-3 innings. To replace Parque, Tampa Bay selected right-hander Al Levine from Triple-A Durham. Parque underwent shoulder surgery in 2001. He was signed as free agent in January after going 1-4 with a 9.95 ERA in eight games with the Chicago White Sox last season.
  25. The Tigers are already down 6-0 in the 3rd inning with Dee Brown hitting a grand slam. Jeremy Bonderman got pounded again for 5 runs.
