Can this team just flip the switch come Oct 7?

Mostly because every "fact" he posted was wrong, but details, right? -

Ah yes, the old "youre triggered" post. Apparently a public forum only means you can post your nonsense, but no one can call you on your nonsense. Come with some real content, and you will be taken seriously. You dared everyone to prove you wrong, they did, and now it is down to your personal beliefs. Well, at least you aren't claiming they are facts anymore. -

Every argument you just got made got demolished, so you reformed it into a new pile of crap. If you to post like an emotional teenager, I wouldn't expect anything other than the responses you have gotten. You want to talk about where it starts, start by reading what you post. There might even be a crumb of truth in your meltdowns, but the burning dumpster fire of content obscures anything worth while. -
Better Minor League Pay Is a Good Investment
southsider2k5 replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in FutureSox Board
Here's the thing, this shouldn't be a big thing. If MLB owners were smart, they would view these funds as an investment in the future. They need to realize that they are pushing kids out of baseball, and they are getting sub-optimal returns on their investments because they are going so cheap here. If they were to invest in nutrition and a even a minimal amount in housing to keep these kids in sound situations, the return would be much bigger. -

Are you serious with this? You would like to see Andrew start in Birmingham next year? This is lunacy.

Challenge accepted. Since when is Kansas City a playoff team? If the record against KC is important, why didn't you list all of the rest of the crappy teams the Sox did beat up on? The White Sox have eighty wins this year, and Luis Robert has 8 homers. That is at least 72 wins that didn't have a Robert HR. Eloy isn't dead. Neither is TA, Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn or any of the rest of it. Are you trying to say that all of these players will suck in the playoffs? This would be an interesting statement. -
"It's just the seasonal flu" "It's only 15 cases" "We have it under control" "The Chinese have it under control" See how that works?

I mean at the end of the day all the Sox can do is control what they can control, and the rest will play out. There is no reason to be miserable about it. To me, that is the silly part. -

It isn't coasting as much as getting healthy. This team has spent the entire season chasing health. More than the hitters, we have to get the pitching healthy. If you we get Rodon/Gio/Lynn/Cease healthy in a month, everything else fills in from there. Once you make the playoffs the rest becomes a crap shoot. -
I think the answer now is the same answer that it was when people were overreacting to a 38 OPS+ against RHP. Andrew Vaughn is your future. There is no better option the Sox have than a healthy and peaked out Andrew Vaughn, so you do everything possible to get him there before the playoffs. You playing him regularly through the good and the bad so that he keeps learning on the job and hopefully progressing towards being the hitter that he can be. If he is still on the struggle bus in the playoffs, you mix and match with him as needed, but then April 1 next year you are running him into the line up another 150 times and 600 PAs. Rookies especially ride these waves of extremely good and bad. It happens, and if you watch baseball you should know this. Few rookies have the upside of Andrew Vaughn, and as an organization you do what you can to get him there.

They clearly should overrreact to a guy who has made an incredible leap this year, and never played nearly as much as he has played this year in his life by sending him to rookie ball because he hasn't hit with RISP and two outs. Because we all know that the way to hit major league sliders is more batting practice, in rookie ball. Instant gratification much?
