  1. This is the first time in the 120 year history of the franchise that they will have made the playoffs in back to back seasons. It's the best teams we have had since the 05 to 08 stretch. If you can't enjoy this, you are doing it wrong.
  2. I think a lot of the anti-vax conspiracy stuff got tested out in the 9/11 truther stuff. It was almost like a training in how to sell a message to the masses and how to find the things that work, and the things that didn't. It also has really helped that China and Russia have gotten way better at figuring out how to sell death to Americans as a patriotic thing, and a ton of Americans are swallowing it hook, line, and dewormer.
  3. We see this every game with Rodon. His velocity is always low and lowest in the opening innings.
  4. Eloy back in the line up today hitting clean up. DannyWright softly weeps.
  5. Vera got $1.5 million. If he had taken that bonus as a resident of Chicago Illinois he would have paid about $630k in taxes. The DR has a $25% tax rate, which works out to about $375k paid in taxes. By staying there he saved himself a cool quarter million dollars.
  6. Sounds like Colas is not going to pitch anymore.
  7. I would really be curious to hear from some of the experts if guys like Mieses, Rodriguez, Ramos, Yolbert, and Sosa have shown themselves to have starting to staring potential in what they have shown this year. There have been some pretty nice steps forward there.
  8. It is much easier to name the ones that do not. This is a standard thing to have your kids get their shots before school starts.
  9. The same Yankees team that has lost 6 straight games, including the first two to Baltimore? The one that is 2-10 in their last 12 games?
  10. Frank Thomas was TERRIBLE when he first started doing these fill in gigs. His HOF resume did nothing for his ability to relay that information to fans. It took him years of practice to get decent at it. Honestly, I kind of think the opposite is true, when you have to fight for your life for a roster spot, you tend to pick up more of the little things than if you were a star, or a super star. Look around announcers and managers in baseball. There are very few star to superstar players doing this.
  11. Why though? What would make Gordon Beckham a better analyst if he hit .270 for his career instead of .237? He played 11 years on major league rosters. What is he getting with 15 extra hits a season that he doesn't have now?
  12. You can also peak at his exit velocities and how it seems like the harder he hits the all lately, it is more likely to be an out. 9/9 102.3 out 9/8 96.5 out 9/8 100.3 out 9/7 99.3 out
  13. Why? What is the transfer of skills required between the two that is so relevant?
