  1. It sounds strange, but for as many players as they have lost this winter, they kind of needed this.
  2. I get what you are trying to say here, but I disagree with the idea that someone like Leury isn't needed on this team. With the injury history we have with some of our biggest players, having someone who can step into those spots in a pinch, and give them days off otherwise, is a necessity. It's not like the team can sign up 7 major league starter ready OFs, so this is about as close as you can come to it by getting plug in level guys, and insulating the system against needing to dip into the minors when these injuries happen.
  3. The Rickets are pretty much the reincarnation of Cohen, just a bit quieter about it publicly.
  4. They have to do SOMETHING to keep the illusion that they care about winning alive. They can no longer blame payroll limitations after the money they dumped last year.
  5. Genius statement. I bet people are flooding the lines for season tickets off of this statement.
  6. I don't know if it will survive the lockout, but the run up in player prices made me feel a whole lot better about getting return for Kimbrel.
  7. Out of all of these guys, Baez is #1 on the list of guys that I think teams could most regret throwing lots of money at.
