Bo Jackson isn't just looking at his numbers. His tools were probably the loudest of that generation before his body failed him. He also did it while dedicating half of his time to another sport. He might be the biggest "what if" in the history of baseball.

The hard part is that you can never take into account the changes into the game itself. I mean you can compare relative dominance, but if you think about the relative eras, and how much things have changed, it is tough to quantify. I mean Babe Ruth never played a baseball game against a black player, or a Japanese player, or even a Dominican or Cuban player. But at the same time, Babe also never had instant replays, advanced statistics or any of the other individually tailored programming that exists today.

The kid has 75 to 80 speed now and is built like tight end. I don't know how much more "filling out" he can do.

I am not going to say this lightly, but the man has Trout tools. The big thing he needs to do is stay healthy. If he can play 150 games a season, he will be an MVP level guy. He has it all. The Sox have never had a guy with the whole package like Luis has. We have had a HOF hitter in Frank, but he couldn't field to save his life. We have had insane defenders, who couldn't hit. We had guys like Magglio Ordonez who fielded pretty well, and could hit the shit out of the ball, but didn't have ++ speed. If Luis Robert stays healthy, he is a human cheat code.

If we want to talk about 05 vs 21, the difference is the offense. We have as much, or probably even more pitching than we had in 05, but the offense is on a different planet.
