  1. I feel like most people who don't like the reliever trades are glossing over how scary the pen was right before the deadline. Ryan Burr was getting big set up man innings was how bad things had gotten. Bummer had an ERA near 5 at this point. Heuer was still over 5 for his ERA. Kopech was just off of injury and wasn't doing back to backs. Crochet had given up earned runs in four straight outings. Ruiz had his struggles. ReyLo had just come up from the minors in the 2nd half of the month and his 8 ERA at AAA, and hadn't really established himself as trustworthy yet. Burdi had been awful and send out to AAA. It was scary trying to get the ball to Hendriks, especially the 2nd half of July. You can make an argument about WHO we should have gotten, but the pen was really, really bad during this stretch is an absolute fact.
  2. Wright will not be on the playoff roster. He is literally just a live body to give innings.
  3. Teams in Texas and Georgia should be calling though.
  4. If Yermin was already off of the AAA roster for some reason, I can't see him being around for the playoff roster, even as an extra.
  5. It's definitely not alone in having a garbage ending that puts a dump on a shows legacy. Lost, Dexter, and How I Met Your Mother all were godawful endings. Dexter was a show ruiner for sure.
  6. He'd be a great one to have on the roster, though I would think if he was going to be on it, he'd be up already.
  7. This was my guess from another thread. Unless there are more injuries, they will probably carry less guys in then pen than they have been, and will probably only start 4 guys, so they can carry an extra hitter. Will guess Giolito, Lynn, Rodon, Cease start, with Dallas going to the pen. The rest of the pen will be Liam, Kimbrel, Kopech, Crochet, Tepera, Bummer, Ruiz, and ReyLo. Burr, Wright, Foster, Fry, etc are out. I think they go, C. Yas, Collins 1B: Abreu, Sheets 2B, Leury, Hernandez SS: TA 3B: Yo OF: Eloy, Robert, Vaughn, Hamilton Last spot to Engel or Goodwin if either is healthy. If not, maybe they keep Burr. Surprise would be 3rd Catcher in Seby.
  8. Man I LOVED the original right up until the ending. I hated the ending enough that it ruined the show for me for a long time. I am going to watch the prequel to hopefully get some of that taste out of my mouth.

  11. I don't think he will be suspended either, mostly because it was a "legal" slide, but it was obvious he was looking for contact there. He wasn't sliding to the bag, he was barreling through it, spikes up.
  12. What do you mean by "new"? There are all kinds of variants out there, even past Delta.
  13. My biggest problem with covid is all of the people it kills and the long term health conditions is causes even in "mild" cases. I am not quite sure why anything else should be that important compared to it. Then again when all of your posts go against what you say are your own actions, people aren't going to really believe you.
  14. He looked like he aimed for his back leg, and definitely had his spikes up.
  15. He literally asked what he said to the umpire after the game.
  16. Its getting there slowly but surely.
  17. I love how you think this would be an insult, or that I would quit a far superior job to do this.
  18. Tony all fired up in the post game, dumped on Bruce Levine for asking a stupid question about what he said to the umpires after the game.
  19. It was a team effort, the umpire started holding him back, and then a few other players and coaches handed him off to stop him from doing something he would regret in the long term.
  20. Any time Chicago beats Detroit, I am happy.
  21. Sports are literally the only reason I have kept COmcast around.
