  1. Did you copy these from a post on WSI? Driving me crazy because I thought I saw it somewhere else recently. http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbullet...p;postcount=245
  2. Your wording is a bit off on this one. Crede started that game at SS. Widger started the game at 3B. Dye replaced Crede at SS.
  3. If the Sox kept Bonilla, the question remains - would they have been in line for McDowell in '87, Robin in '88, and Frank in '89? If the Sox kept Bonilla, the entire future of the franchise could have been altered for the worst. I can't imagine the Sox in the 90s without Frank Thomas.
  4. Lucy and I think Nunez (or Marquez)...one of the two crappy pitchers from the Swisher deal.
  5. Kenny Lofton already quit on us once, in 2002. You want to sign him up again six years later? No thanks.
  6. Any deal with the Angels must include Howie Kendrick.
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 09:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Many of us quite like StatMan's posts, and in fact he was nominated for best thread-starter in the annual awards for this site. That's an interesting commentary on this site if he was nominated for best thread-starter. He just started posting here a little over a month ago. Wow. QUOTE(Beltin @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 09:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People here promote all kinds of crap in their signatures/avatars and it is their prerogative. I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm talking about WSI.
  8. QUOTE(StatManDu @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 06:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks, all. I appreciate the kind words and love doing the blog. It's all about Sox history, that's all. I never could really convince the fine folks at WSI that. If it's all about Sox history, there's no reason to promote your website on every post. There are people on WSI that have contributed a thousand times the amount of information you have over the years....for free and without trying to promote their own agenda.
  9. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last night I got an game issue Aaron Rowand jersey and an awesome sox hoodie for a grand total of.....$31.00 Not be a downer because it is a good deal, but those jerseys are not game issue...not even close. It's a replica jersey wth the cheap lettering and numbers on the back.
  10. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1997-White flag trade, sure maybe we wouldn't have ended up winning the division or getting the wild card anyways, but still it was couple months of the season Getting players like Danny Darwin, Doug Drebek, Danny Tartabull, Charlie O'Brien, and Ruben Sierra, all past their prime too. First you mention the white flag trade as a bad moment, but then you nitpick that Danny Darwin was a bad pickup at the time. Do you realize that Darwin was one of the three players the Sox traded in the white flag trade?
  11. QUOTE(IowaSoxFan @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Garland, Broadway and Crede for Arod, Cabrera and Hughes. That's insane. You'd be lucky to get ARod for that package, let alone Hughes and Cabrera being thrown in.
  12. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 10:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The that the same Joe Cowley who pitched a no-hitter for the Sox? Not the same guy at all.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Harry Caray was not a homer. He would rip into the organization regularly and that was why he left the team. He insulted the players, coaches, and management. Hawk, on the other hand, kisses their ass for the most part. Harry was most certainly a homer once he joined the Tribune Co.
  14. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 07:03 AM) I actually heard that she got one too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Veeck's daughter, not Cusack, no?
  15. Anyone have the phone number to SI customer service?
  16. Let me give a word of advice on this: If you possibly can, avoid buying it from mlb.com. I had three separate ones sent me to me, and each one had a problem with it, and ALL of them had the MLB patch sewn on crookedly on the back. It was almost like they were sending me rejected/defective items from their warehouse. I finally ended up going to Grandstand and getting a nice one from there. If you're picky about things (I might be a little anal), it might be worth seeing it in person first.
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) i usually buy larges for t-shirts, hoodies, etc. and a large fits perfectly for me. But i could see how someone would want to order one size larger because the cutoffs by your wrists are kinda small......but i have small wrists so that dosen't apply to me. also: the fleece is my favorite thing i've gotten so far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just got mine today. It fits sort of strangely. You're right, the sleeves are super small, but the rest of the fit is perfect. I went with a large, and it seems fine, although I really can't wear much more than a t-shirt underneath it. The problem is that the length is almost perfect if not a bit long. If I went with an XL, it would have been a bag.
  18. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) We could still easily lose this thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Easily? Hardly.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) 40 = M 44 = L 48 = XL 52 = XXL 56 = XXXL 60 = XXXXL I'm 6'3" ~175 lbs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is the exact sizing guide that I've seen before. I'm 5'10-1/2", 195....the 48 fits beautifully.
  20. That's a great bat. I've got a black one like that for the 2000 team with the autos all in gold. Nice.
  21. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) I thought about busting out Champagne but will wait until the end of the ALCS to hopefully do that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll probably pop some champagne if we can win 4 more games this year. ALCS victory means major party!
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Dye also used to be a pitcher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He used to play shorstop too
  23. Never seen the ESPN boards. Are they as bad as I hear?
  24. Probably going to go in to work early and leave early so I don't miss the game.
