  1. http://www.nypost.com/sports/mets/62295.htm Lastings Milledge... *drools*
  2. I guess it's not a totally insane idea that this guy could be another Alfonso Soriano. Soriano was signed out of Japan as well so there are good players out there. But Phil Rogers is known to overhype prospects.
  3. And just think... Tyson Chandler 24.5 MPG 4.6 PPG 7.40 RPG 1.11 BPG Eddie Griffin 20.5 MPG 5.5 PPG 6.30 RPG 2.42 BPG
  4. He must have stepped up a lot more on defense. It looks like he's blocking a lot more shots.
  5. Imagine if Clark actually gets a salary bonus for being a "Pro Bowler." :puke
  6. Eddie Griffin's numbers looked better coming off the bench last season... http://www.nba.com/playerfile/eddie_griffin/index.html
  7. Sorry, that was my massive Tyson Chandler rant. Ahhh, I feel much better now.
  8. But Garnett has more talent in his pinky than Chandler. Jermaine O'Neal is also much better. Maybe if Chandler was more physical, he wouldn't need any more size. But he isn't physical. He doesn't even know how to go to the basket except when he's going for a tip-in or a putback. And why does Chandler flex? It's not like he has anything but twig arms... Ahhh, Chandler frustrates me. Mainly because Elton Brand was stupidly traded for him. Not to mention the fact that Chandler is making over $60 million dollars and looks like a massive bust.
  9. I'd rather have the real Ben Wallace next year. He's a free agent after this season, right?
  10. Chandler is 7'1". He really shouldn't be only 235 pounds. He still isn't in NBA shape even after 5 years in the NBA. I laugh everytime I see a shot of his biceps, or lack thereof.
  11. Even if the Sox go with another lefty (which I think they will), Bajenaru will still have a chance to make the roster. Ozzie may go with a 7-man bullpen due to Mackowiak and Ozuna's versatility.
  12. 7'1" and he averages 7.4 rebounds a game. Gotta love it. We will have to sign a real center so Chandler can stick to PF.
  13. Maybe Deng realized that he was taking too many stupid, low percentage shots. He still tends to do it quite a bit.
  14. For over $60 million dollars, Chandler's good games shouldn't be 11 points and 8 rebounds. But anything is an improvement I guess.
  15. I'm surprised that the base salary is so low at $500,000. I know that Frank already got a $3.5 million buyout from the Sox and he is mainly playing for the incentives but Timo Perez and Ben Davis got a guaranteed million dollars last season. Awesome deal for the A's, whether he stays healthy or not. I'm surprised that the Twins didn't try harder to sign him but I guess the A's were Frank's first choice.
  16. Hell, even Ben Grieve would be a huge upgrade over Timo. TIMO!!!
  17. The only thing I can figure is that our buddy Dayn Perry thinks that Podsednik (Dayn HATES Podsednik) and Dye will regress, while Anderson will struggle as a rookie, and Thome may not stay healthy. On paper, our offense is better. A healthy Thome is a MASSIVE upgrade over Everett and I think that Anderson will be able to put up 2005 Rowand numbers. Mackowiak off the bench will help as well.
  18. I know this isn't shocking news but... On the Score, Joe Cowley said that Don Cooper told him that Brandon McCarthy would start the season in the bullpen barring any injuries to the rotation, such as Garcia or Vazquez getting hurt from pitching in the WBC. The Sox will try McCarthy in a variety of bullpen roles. I assume this means that they will try him in long relief, middle relief, and setup and find the best spot for him. Joe Cowley will have an article on this story tomorrow in the Daily Southtown.
  19. Of course he is. Did Barry Bonds ever have enough skills to play in Japan? Nope.
  20. Even in our own rotation, Buehrle had the highest ERA of our four starters in the postseason... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...=33&compare.y=2 Garcia = 3 starts, 3-0 record, 2.14 ERA Garland = 2 starts, 1-0 record, 2.25 ERA Contreras = 4 starts, 3-1 record, 3.09 ERA Buehrle = 3 starts, 2-0 record, 3.47 ERA
  21. Clemens is 43 f***ing years old. Buehrle is 26. Clemens is a Hall of Famer. Is Buehrle? Are you seriously going to argue that Buehrle > Clemens? Seriously?
