  1. It was a joke, but that is what Levine does. The report is exactly what I stated in the first post of this thread. Levine thinks that the Sox could put together the best package for Tejada. ESPN 1000 reported that the Sox offer could be McCarthy, Uribe, and prospect(s) for Tejada. I know I'm not the only one who heard this.
  2. I have no idea what he was mumbling. All he seems to do is get on the air and start telling Jew jokes.
  3. Levine is basically saying that the Sox could probably beat any package out there for Tejada if they want to because they have a good combination of prospects and established players to trade.
  4. Uribe is not even close to half the player that Tejada is. It's not even close, and I like Uribe. The Carpetbomber is on now...
  5. Okay, I can understand people not wanting to trade away McCarthy but worrying about losing Uribe when you are getting Tejada? No offence but that's ridiculous.
  6. Bruce "The Carpetbomber" Levine will be on ESPN 1000 in 15 minutes or so to discuss these rumors.
  7. Haha, the shock factor is pretty insane isn't it?
  8. Agreed, but the Orioles are probably rebuilding and would want McCarthy over Garland.
  9. You were right: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...=0entry988599
  10. Bruce Levine just reported on ESPN 1000 that MLB sources think that the Sox are putting together a monster package to bag another big player, Miguel Tejada. The Sox could try to put together a package of McCarthy, Uribe, and prospects for Tejada.
  11. Sorry, I love what El Duque did for us in the postseason but I sure didn't enjoy his 1.46 WHIP and 5.12 ERA in the regular season.
  12. I'd rather get something for Garland and Crede now than watch them leave for nothing after 2006.
  13. I just thought it would make some sense seeing as both Garland and Crede could be gone anyways after 2006. Both will be free agents and Garland is going to get a monster contract and Crede's agent is still Boras. Mackowiak would still back up the infield and outfield, especially center field if Anderson struggles. Blalock would be under contract for $3 million in 2006, $4.75 million in 2007, and $5.95 million in 2008.
  14. El Duque stinks (postseason notwithstanding) and isn't worth $4.5 million and Vizcaino is a mediocre reliever who gives up far too many baserunners. I don't see how anyone cares about losing those two. The big loss is Chris Young.
  15. Garland and Crede for Blalock and prospects?
  16. The sky is blue and Courtney Love is evil.
  17. Just old gascans like Chris Hammond and Mike Stanton.
  18. Ricardo Rincon already signed with the Cardinals for 2-years, $2.9 million.
  19. I don't think so. Here's the latest article from the Tribune on the trade: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...i-sportsnew-hed
  20. Does anyone remember Vazquez owning us on June 14th last season to the tune of 10 strikeouts? Hawk was especially depressed that day. Ironically, El Duque pitched for us that day... and was shellacked. Vizcaino also pitched in the game and gave up 1 ER on 3 hits in 1.0 IP. Marte was also rocked in the game. Pretty weird. 21. All the latest reports mention both El Duque and Chris Young. The only question is whether or not Luis Vizcaino is also involved in the trade.
  22. I don't see us trading Garland for relievers but I agree with you on Willie and Borchard. They could be used to acquire young, low-profile relievers with some upside.
  23. After 2006, Garland and Contreras will both be free agents. After 2007, Buehrle will be a free agent if we pick up his 2007 team option for $9.5 million (which we will). Garcia will also be a free agent after 2007. Our pitching staff is built for mainly the next two seasons. I'm not saying we can't win the World Series after 2007 but I truly believe our best time to repeat is mainly in 2006 and 2007.
