  2. Agreed, send them Rogowski, Tracey, etc. for Wagner. Offer the Reds a package of mid-level guys and see if they are interested. Afterall, they don't seem to like Wagner too much.
  3. Now Ryan Wagner is the perfect guy to acquire. He's still young (23), has a lot of talent and potential, still has options left so he could be stashed at Charlotte, and he might come cheap because the Reds seem to be down on him. Acquire him, let him pitch at Charlotte, and he could make a great midseason callup if he succeeds at AAA. He also could be a great addition for next season -- McCarthy will probably be in our rotation, Hermanson will probably be retiring, and Politte will be a free agent. I don't know much at all about Wagner but it looks like he barely pitched in the minors. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/W/ryan-wagner.shtml Did the Reds screw up with him? Probably.
  4. I said from the start that I hope Thornton proves me wrong. I'm not rooting against him. I want him to succeed like everyone else. Right now, the bullpen looks a bit shaky and almost everyone realizes it. I don't see how I am overreacting in this case. I agree with JimH and would like to see the Sox pick up another arm and stash him at Charlotte.
  5. Of course. Our entire pitching staff was studly last season (well, minus Marte). But is it okay to be concerned with our current bullpen?
  6. She will have to go bang all of his old ex-Mets teammates first.
  7. Ah ok, now I understand what you mean. Jerry Owens would be my guess. I doubt that they want to bring Sweeney up this soon.
  8. The Score posted an mp3 of Ozzie's interview with Boers and Bernstein on Tuesday. Hilarious stuff... http://670thescore.com/includes/news_items/1/805/ozzie.mp3
  9. I believe Ozzie said that it would be a Mackowiak / Ozuna platoon in LF.

  11. He has potential but he still has to show that he can hit at the major league level. He has a ton of speed but he doesn't draw many walks and strikes out a lot. And the Devil Rays are trying to rob a team for him, acting like he's the next Pierre / Podsednik.

  13. How about a 1-0 victory with Shingo earning the save?

  15. Has a Sox player EVER done anything wrong in your eyes or are they all All-Stars? Do you still miss Timo and Marte? Almost EVERYONE has questions about Jenks this year. If you're not concerned with Jenks or Thornton or whomever, that's fine, but you don't need to jump on me because I am. Jenks has looked out of shape and terrible on the mound for most of ST. Thornton has had a history of failure. I don't think that it's unreasonable to be concerned with them.
  16. Spring Training results matter when a guy who usually throws 99 MPH is only touching 96 and hasn't been finding the strike zone up until today. Give it a rest. Yep, that's it. Everyone here thinks that I'm an Indians fan. You got me pegged.
  17. I never went crazy about it. I was just asking questions about his velocity. Are you a homer? Why do you care?
  18. Nope, but when he does it in the regular season then you can call me out.
