I found this website...everyone needs to see
JoeBatterz replied to wilmot825's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Mariotti has been doing the same thing for over 15+ years. When the Bulls were winning all those titles he was all over with his loving, but as soon as the Knicks or Pacers won a single playoff game, he was knocking everyone from Jackson to Krause to Jerry to MJ and Pippen. He is like a bass out of water. -
The 2006 team just did something the 2005 team never did...
JoeBatterz replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I want to say that the only Sox game I saw in person last year when I got back to Chicago, Buehrle started against the A's on a Saturday night and we got smacked 10-1. -
ND Football radio guy Tony Roberts fired
JoeBatterz replied to knightni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 17, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) How does the old ND lightbulb joke go again? 1 to change it. 2 to talk about how much they missed the old one? Actually, I had not heard that one. I thought it went: Q: How many ND grads does it take to change a light bulb? A: Just one. They hold the bulb in place and the whole world revolves around them. PS I am guilty as charged. -
Monte Dutton picked Burton as his longshot winner of the Coca-Cola 600 based on his being a 2 time former winner of that race and his strong season so far. Granted he also named Jimmy Johnson and about 8 other guys as well.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 16, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) This is so sad. Almost everyone loves Doug. Cept for Da Bear players who nicknamed him Bambi.

Based upon the # of responses, looks like nobody cares about Barry here.

It will only get worse for them over the next few years as well. The Sox should contend at least for a few more years based on their nucleus and the farm system and KW's track record. Both the Tigers and Indians are rising clubs based upon their youth as well. Plus, the Twins, might open the purse strings with their new ballpark on the way. Might the Royals only win 20 by 2010?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) And who the hell is Mike Greenfield? Greenfield uses computers to crank out his rankings. Obviously, his formula is flawed.

Dick Allen was a MAJOR jag, I would never compare Big Frank to him. Glad to see Frank jack 2 homers and us come back and win!
-
Regarding Baines, he played TWELVE more years after they first traded him and retired his number and that included 2 more stints with the White Sox. Talk about your premature.....
-
Great News for Frank! Considering we were overmatched tonight with Garland vs. Zito, this can be the one game that he does well during the series.
-
No to Raines, only because of the Highest of Standards. Yes to him having a great career though.

The Cubs can keep having the town, the Sox will just keep the trophy.

I went with the Sweep over the divisional foe, especially if it is the Tribe, Tigers or Twins. We get the added benefit of a win and a loss by them which moves us closer to our goal of another divisional title and a return to the playoffs and beyond. Of course, I do not have many Cub fans around down here so I do not have to put him their BS if they happen to get a few wins against us. Just shove the ring in their face.

Decent high level review of the Black Sox Scandal.

Within Firefox the top banner overlaps the top header box. I can live with it though. Looks good at first glance.

I would like to see Burton stop being a nice guy like his mentor Martin and slug Gordon in the face, Jimmy Spencer style.

QUOTE(daa84 @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) im from nashville and i dont often see sox stuff, when i do see it i think its more for the hip hop look then actual fans.. Also from Nashville and this is not really a sports town and for certain not baseball. Only baseball team that you really see represented locally is the Braves. If you are downtown, you will get the tourists wearing the teams from where they are came. Unless of course they are wearing the cheap cowboy hats they sell along 2nd and Lower Broadway. Only time when I see a Sox fan is when I meet someone from Chicago down here on vacation. If someone comes up to you to talk about the Sox while you have something from the team on, it will probably be me. There is one other caller along with myself who call Nashville Sports Radio 560 to talk up the Sox and defend the team in case any Indian or Yankee fans gets through to bad mouth the Sox. Mostly though, baseball is a non-topic down here.

Nobody outside of the leauge spends as much time year-round on the NFL draft as Mel. He also always has an opinion and is not afraid to give it. That is why he might be wrong on occassion as he always goes to bat for his view point.

I hope Favre keeps coming back through 2010 so Da Bears can keep knocking him around.

Reggie Evans Violates Chris Kaman
JoeBatterz replied to Heads22's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) Maybe he was checking for a hernia? Kaman did turn his head to the side and coughed. -
I think Robin Ventura is the single season leader for receiving the most noogies from an opposing pitcher.
-
Wow, that was quick work!

How many White Sox Alumni are actually playing on other teams this year? Not just guys from the World Champs, but any player currently playing that spent any time in the Sox organization. How would this compare to other teams? Just curious.
