Sabathia vs Contreras always bring up bad memories of Opening Day 2007. :shudders:

I made the mistake of watching Chicago Tribune Live today and witnessed Phil Rogers' douchebaggery. He pretty much expects the Indians to sweep the Sox and believes that this will be the series that the Indians start their run-away with the division. He goes on to say that the Indians pitching is superior to the White Sox (has he seen CLE bullpen lately?) and that Sox "don't have any hitters."

QUOTE (Cowch @ May 20, 2008 -> 04:58 PM) At work I have a 1440 by 900. Could you possibly make that? Sure thing.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 20, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) Im just pointing out that the Paxsons are smart enough to go after LeBron One of them is also dumb enough to pass on Kobe, Garnett, and Gasol. And now the one who drafted Lebron works under the tutelage of the one who passed on the 3 All-Stars. Can we have them switch roles in the Front Office?

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2008 -> 01:34 PM) There is zero doubt Lebron is going to leave Cleveland for a bigger market when his contract is up. In fact, some people think he has a bonus he gets in his Nike contract if he does that. The question is which will he go to. It won't be LA since the Clippers blow and the Lakers have Kobe's deal. It could be the Bulls, but Paxson isn't a smart fella so I'm not sure about that either. Thus, most people speculate Nets or Knicks, and with the way things are now, the Nets are the clear favorite. Basically all that. And don't forget Jay-Z and Lebron are very good friends.

QUOTE (rangercal @ May 20, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) hmm Jay Z is representing the Nets at the lottery today They'll be the Brooklyn Knights soon. And their star player will be Lebron James.

A tie between Alexei and AJ? Didn't see this coming after all the Floyd love. Make sure to request your special screen resolutions btw.

You are an athlete. Would you take performance enhanching drugs?

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 20, 2008 -> 11:44 AM) I'm not interested in dying at the age of 50 from kidney failure. I wouldn't be opposed to, say, scuffing the ball, however. Scuffing anything won't help with your shoulder... -
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 19, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) Can that be changed? I like Buehrle and Danks as much as the next guy....but it'd be cool to mix it up. We've got something brewing...

New poll, new options. Go! Also, if you need a specific resolution, let me know so I can accommodate all requests. Resolutions: 1024x768 1280x1024 1280x854 1440x900

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 19, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) Prepare thyself for ESPN coverage of the greatest no-hitter in the history of all mankind Yeah, slightly better than Bucholz's no-hitter from last year, a close number 2.

QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 19, 2008 -> 03:38 PM) Lived on the North side of Chicago all my life, recently moved to Norridge. I've got family that lives right off Cumberland in Norridge. The airplanes flying right over the houses is something else. As for myself, raised on the Southeast side of the city, about 15 minutes from the park. Now, I go to school near Grand Rapids, Michigan. Quite a few Sox fans. I see hats/shirts/jerseys pretty often, as we have a good number of Chicagoans that attend the school. One my roommates is a Sox fan from Orland Park. I also almost got into a fight with 3 Cubs guys at one of our football games. I had on a Sox shirt and was getting some s*** from 3 drunk idiots who we're telling me how terrible of a manager Ozzie was and how re-signing Dye and Buehrle was stupid and how last year was the Cubs year. I laughed for a while, but they left half way through the 2nd quarter.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 19, 2008 -> 01:00 AM) Obviously, with the win, this is not a big deal but.... i saw this on Soxmachine's recap Crede's throw to second pulled Alexei Ramirez off the bag. Ramirez did get his foot back on the bag in time. He also tagged Randy Winn. The umpire didn't see either, and it was 9-7 with still no outs. What is that about? Did Winn have his foot off the bag shortly after the play? I dont think I caught this. Basically the quote you have is exactly what happened. I think the ump thought Alexei gave up trying to get his foot back on the bag when he went for the tag. Either way, he tagged him out on time AND get his foot on the bag. He was out twice (or in two ways) but the ump called him safe.
