  1. Yes, a Mid Level Exception is basically an allotted amount that every team has to spend on free agency, equal to the average salary in the NBA. This years MLE is 5.5 million, and the bi-annual is 1.8 I believe. I was surprised how many people didn't know what it was. Not a stupid question at all CWS.

  6. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 01:09 PM) Oh, I would take it far. Not as far as the Marlins, but pretty far. I dreamt something up like this a couple days ago (I'll work out the trades on another day). CF, Jacoby Ellsbury SS, Yunel Escobar DH, Jim Thome 1B, Paul Konerko RF, Geoff Jenkins C, Jarrod Saltalamacchia 3B, Josh Fields LF, Ryan Sweeney 2B, Danny Richar So where is all the rest of the money?
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 01:57 AM) The only name that is really exciting on that list is Magloire, IF, he can get back to that form he showed a few seasons back. Hence why I thought trading for a young talented big such as O'Bryant would be a good idea. He won't contribute for a few seasons, but the Bulls can mould, and he could provide the low post need you desperately need. He got compared to Brad Daugherty before the draft IIRC. As for ninetrain's thoughts on Duhon (I think that was you, can't be bothered going back), well that is true about Duhon's shooting ability, but the Warriors could need a backup PG still if Ellis was traded in a package for Yi. Or, the Bulls could trade their 1st rounder next season for him, if the Warriors would accept that deal, because you're not likely to get a better big in the 20's. Well, Williamson is the best low post scorer available and I'd love to have him. Ely is also very athletic, but didn't get much playing time with the Spurs, and if IIRC, he was averaging about 10 points when he demanded the trade from the Bobcats. If I was Pax, I'd go Milicic, Williamson, Smith, Mihm, Ely, and Magloire, in that order.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) I actually kind of like the stacked sentence approach. I don't.
  9. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) God damn Darko is like so perfect for us it isn't even funny. I've wanted him since draft day 2003.
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 01:35 AM) I haven't heard anyone suggest that it's a big deal, nor that it's news. I mean, of course it'd be better if it weren't there, but why do you think it'll even be a problem? He's skipping both summer leagues because of it.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 11:45 PM) So who do you see the Bulls going after with their MLE besides Darko then? Melvin Ely, Chris Mihm, Corliss Williamson, Jamaal Magloire, Joe Smith, and Marc Jackson.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 11:27 PM) Hmmm. Well right now I'm hoping we can trade Hedo Turkloglu for say Golden State's trade exemption, to open up cap - room to re-sign Darko. Lewis was our 1st priority and it's good to have him. He'll seriously open up the court for Dwight. Darko's agent thinks he could get 60/6, I don't think he's going to get that unless a team gets desperate. But I'd like for him to stay. But Milicic could be a VERY good option for Chicago. He's just got to be used right. I would absolutely love to have Darko here. My god, it would just be a fantastic signing.
  13. Rashard Lewis agrees to sign with Orlando. 5 yrs, 75 million. Magic are going to let Darko walk. Get him Pax! Kapono to the Raps. 4 yrs, 24 million. WAY too much.
  14. People must think this is the Corey Patterson the Cubs had.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Well, good thing we pitched to Millar with an open base. One more time please. 3 is the charm.
  16. QUOTE(GOD @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Hey since all this started we are 7-1 (assuming we win tonight). So keep it up Kenny Jinx.
  17. That was by far the toughest call to the pen I've seen in my life.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) We were on cloud nine when PK re-signed, and from the looks of it, he's not going to lead us to the playoffs during his new contract. What does that have to do with anything? And who's fault is it that the team wont make the playoffs while he's here?
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) No offense, but anyone who wants fans to boycott is an idiot. Nothing like our payroll being cut in half because people don't understand how the market works. Even though said player was going to sign for under his market value and only wanted career security for himself and his family?
  20. Is Handzus better at 4 mil then Lang?
  21. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) I'm getting sick of your Thomas hate. I've never seen anybody hate on a specific player on their own team as much as you have. And this is from our AIM chats a couple years back when you knew I LOVED T2 and you hated him. Noah, I can understand specifically cause I don't really like him either as a player, but at least I won't hate on the guy. Let him develop/see what he brings to the table or maybe take off the blinders and see how much they have improved especially after at least a 2+ year basis. I know you love him, and I respect your opinion. So respect mine. And if you haven't seen someone hate a player on their own team as much as me, hop on TalkBulls and watch people rip Kirk Hinrich. I don't like Tyrus of the high praise he gets from people like you. No offense, but the guy hasn't done anything to be handed a starting PF spot in the NBA. Every 12 games, Tyrus score 10 and I hear about how he's a future star and how he is so athletic and deserved 40 minutes a game. Where were the people the other 11 games when he racked up more turnovers and fouls than points and rebounds? I also think you misread my post. I'd rather have Tyrus Thomas getting consistent minutes as the PF backup than having him struggle through playing 30+ minutes a game as the starting PF. Read my posts on TB for more.
