  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 06:17 PM) Agreed. He lasted 10 games/37 PAs before hitting the DL the first time this season and 9 games/39 PAs before his second appearance on the disabled list. So in 78 team games, Podsednik has appeared in only 19 of them. He needs to go away. 78 games, 76 at bats. Solid.
  2. QUOTE(black jack @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:55 AM) A 50 win team that also very young. Give them time to grow up a bit. Stand pat. Let Deng and Tyrus develop a post game. Hopefully, by the time Wallace is an expiring Noah will have replaced him anyway. In a year or two when they all have contracts that can actually get us something in return...make some trades. Thats the worst thing Paxson can do. Deng is going nowhere and he should be an All Star this year. Hoping Tyrus Thomas develops while being the (likely) starting PF is just horrific. Of the Free Agent big guys, Corliss Williamson is probably the best low post scorer. He's a veteran, hes pretty athletic, and does everything well, just doesn't do anything really great. He averaged 9 points in only 19 minutes a game last year with the Kings and I'd love for the Bulls to ink him. Other Free Agent big men I'd look at are Milicic (too much $ though), Brian Skinner (good D, great rebounder), Mikki Moore (exploded on the scene, good scorer, too much $), and Jamaal Magloire (former All Star, caught in some bad situations team-wise). If the Bulls don't trade for a good big man, then they'll have to sign someone, because I would be extremely hesitant in handing Tyrus the starting spot right now. As of now, Tyrus, Noah, and Wallace are the only big men on our roster. If we keep just those 3, we'll have the worst offensive group of PF/C ever seen in the league.
  3. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 08:46 AM) That's right, I kill the messenger. This is Sparta?
  4. RP Frankie Francisco, 1-0, 3.90 ERA
  5. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) It's good at winning games. My god, how often are you going to change your avatar? You change it almost as much as your diaper.

    QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Yeah, I trust rottentomatoes.com more than the imdb.com ratings. You probably get a lot of 15 year olds on imdb voting for ridiculous movies. Why would a 15 year old give a higher rating to, say, Citizen Kane, then to Kung Pow???
  8. Williams, Hahn, Hemmond, Reinsdorf and all the rest can go to hell if this is true.
  9. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 11:27 PM) I hate saying this, but Thornton has pitched better this season then his numbers would indicate. And I hope we don't trade a lefty who throws as hard as he does for another questionable OF'er. Gwynn is better then Borchard, but that was a dumb, dumb, DUMB trade by the Mariners. I trade Thornton for Gwynn in an instant.
  10. Use auto linebreak mode, much simpler if you have to type something or add to the post.
  11. QUOTE(logic101 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) "I have heard Thornton's name thrown around, but not so much MacDougall. I would think Melvin would be more interested in the lefty, but of course what team isn't interested in a lefty pitcher with a heartbeat..." I think a trade that could work with the Brewers is Boone Logan (or Thornton, but I'd prefer to give up Logan) for Tony Gwynn...I don't see a future for him in Milwaukee but he's a solid defensive centerfielder, an improving leadoff hitter - he was hitting 301 with an OBP of .363 when he was sent down - and a pretty decent base stealer. He has that very nice habit of forcing his way on to a team by actually performing better than expected on the field. If the Sox could plug him to CF and leadoff next year, they could free up assets to try to fix SS or 2B. Boone Logan is untouchable.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) Yeah, I don't know as much about Kent, but I don't think Zambrano is much of a teammate. I was joking. Kent and Zambrano are genuine assholes and headcases.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) A good teammate punches guys on his own team? That's news to me. Are you telling me Zambrano and Kent are bad teammates? GTFOH.
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) Well, I don't really know why an IU blog is pinned at the top here, in it including pure garbage about Bruce Weber "losing" a recruit. To have it pinned is kind of hilarious, hence I said might as well link to Peegs. I'm pretty sure Illiniboard et al shouldn't be pinned here. BTW, it'd be nice if people actually got suspended for blatant personal attacks instead of Greasy just posting a warning directed at two people, neither of whom attacked anyone. Do you have to complain about it? It's Boz' blog and it was an administrative decision to let him pin it here to get some people interested in it. If you don't like it, take it up with Jason instead of posting in the thread complaining. We get it, you're an Illini guy, that doesn't mean you have to rip an IU blog.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) WOW, Andy Gonzalez just made a complete ass of himself. More hops to 2nd than a pogo stick.
  16. Joakim Noah has just slapped Steven A. Smith. I hereby declare him a bust.
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) I will laugh if Conley goes top ten. #4, Memphis.
