  1. With the game starting, it's now a perfect time to go outside and play basketball.
  2. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) Postponed As the players are now running on the field?
  3. In lieu of all this, how awesome would it be for Pods and Erstad to come back and the team wins 15 in a row.
  4. Looks like Tevez might actually stay at West Ham, and it also seems that Sam Allardyce is going to completely reconstruct that Newcastle squad.
  5. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 06:35 PM) i can't believe you guys actually want uribe back....his ops is barely over .600 this year, and his obp last year was .257! i really have grown so sick of this guy....and he gets off so easily on this board...people jump all over guys like vazquez on this borad, who at least a league average pitcher...but the fact that uribe may be one of the worst offensive players in teh majors goes largely unnoticed...at least last year he hit HR and 2b....but this year he has all of 11 extra base hits and 15 BBs....in short...thats horrendous...he still plays good D, but his defense isnt what it was back in 04 and 05....and certainly his D doesn't make up for his poor offense ...now dont get me wrong, i dont think andy gonzalez deserves to be anywhere near a major league field, but i dont think juan uribe is 4.7 million dollars better than him, or especially richar So his 15 BB's, which is already 5 more than he had all of last year, must me he just swings at everything. And his defense easily makes up for the offense he "lacks." I don't jump on Javy, but Uribe is one of the best defensive SS in the MLB, and what he gives you on offense is a great plus. Now, of course, I'd love to get a better SS for next season, but it's not likely to happen, judging by whats available.
  6. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) I'd have to have A LOT of if Zambrano were in a Sox uniform next season. So would Zambrano.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) Previously he hasn't been called out as a stupid ass with the team performance backing up the sentiment. Think what you want. The fact is that Kenny is doing nothing right now. And you are 100% sure this is a fact? As in, you have evidence of KW sitting on his ass doing nothing?
  8. The best fights rarely include punches landed. Chan Ho Park kicking Tim Belcher, Mo Vaughn tackling George Bell, Izzy Alcantary kicking the catcher, Mike Sweeney knocking out Jeff Weaver, Kyle Farnsworth slamming Paul Wilson, etc.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) Too bad dippin dots are like $85 for a 2 oz package.
  10. If it's hot, you must have some Dippin Dots. Simply the best ice cream ever. Connies Pizza is great, nachos are great, the polishes are great, and the kosher dogs are great. Basically, all the food at the park is great. I prefer Giordano's Pizza outside the park, and especially if you like the stuffed pizza, it's the way to go IMO. If you want a really fancy dinner and you want to go crazy, Fogo de Chau.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) When you compare people performing poorly to people who are performing like garbage, the poorly performing people look a lot better. Pods and Erstad were performing poorly when they went down? Jeez, what the hell was I watching?
  12. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) yeah but when other teams' hype their prospects (Indians, A's, Twins, ect.) it's because those prospects actually deserve hype. the same can't be said for the insane amount of hype Brandon McCarthy got for one example. lee, o wee o...can you go back any further into time? both those players are over 30 now and long gone. it seems we have ZERO up and coming young players who can actually produce. i know part of the reason for our young players sucking this season is because the old players on the team don't give a crap because they are grossly overpaid and that rubs off but it's been YEARS since the white sox actually had some quality talent come through their system and we're paying the piper for it now. Carlos Quentin: .210 BA Elijah Dukes: .192 BA Jeremy Hermida: .221 BA Andy Marte: .180 BA (sent back down) Alex Gordon: .210 BA
  13. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) maybe they noticed the white sox can't figure out their crap OF prospects (joe borchard, brian anderson, jerry owens, ect.) from their good ones (cunnigham, young, ect.) so they wanted to rip the white sox off just like they did last time. we can hype this SS up all day but i've heard all the hype in the world with borchard, mccarthy, ect. that's why they call chicago the windy city because chicagoans talk up their young prospects like they're the next coming when in reality they flop time and again. Carlos Lee and Magglio Ordonez turned out alright. Please, quit the nonsense. This is the nature of the game and the nature of prospects. Every team has more players flop than those that turn out to be good. Cunningham hasn't played a major league game yet and your marking him down as one of the good ones. Young hasn't played a full season yet and he's another. Give me a break. I'm sure the DBacks are thrilled with Carlos Quentin's .210 average or maybe the Devil Rays love Elijah Dukes' .192 BA?
  14. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) like those two are much better, if any! Those were arguably our 2 best hitters (sans Thome) when they went down. What are you talking about?
  15. Tadahito taking pitches right down the f***ing middle. Give me a motherf***ing break Gooch. What the f***!
  16. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) you mean by... inches Well, I mean if he hits it 3 feet further, Bay can't catch it.
  17. So, every time a suggested/rumored trade comes up, we play that team, and said player demolishes the Sox? Abreu, Wilson...wait until we see Miguel Cabrera.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 07:06 PM) Rejected Wii Games Nice. Totally random. But nice.
  19. The IBB, perfectly executed. Good job Mark.
